Blind people and superfast speech

TLDR: Blind people can often process speech really fast, up to 2.5 times as fast as sighted people.
I had always heard that blind people had a more "acute" sense of hearing (could detect softer sounds and discriminate between slightly different sounds more easily), but didn't know that the increase in ability also extended to processing speed. Pretty cool. |
