Heard this on Beatport the other day, nice pounding trance track with a great acid line. Been a while since I tuned into trance so it hit the spot.

Askew is one of few trance DJs who have yet to disappoint me

Haha werd.
Mr.Mystery
I haven't heard a John Askew track in about a decade, but apparently I haven't missed much.

Its psy-ish for sure. Are psy and tech-trance related?
I dont think there's anything interesting going on in this track at all.

It's regular trance and it's totally meh. Or worse.

This. That's the problem with virtually all trance since 2004 or so. None of it is really memorable or stands out. Granted, I've grown out of it, but the fact remains...unless it's just me? J00f's Tic Tok track is good and does stand out, but it's like one in a thousand or more nowadays.

At least there is some action going on in this track...compared to lots of those dull techno or deep house tracks posted on TA this year.
For example, most of the tracks on "Fabric 83" are too minimal, dull and boring for me to listen to.:nervous:

Finding good techno is also not an easy task. Which is why I mostly listen to the stuff posted on my Soundcloud stream.

No psy at all man :/

Sounds like a degraded Sean Tyas production circa 2010.
The funny thing about this one is the following: the trend in recent years is to find maybe a decent track, but sonically poor which dismisses the whole production. This one is sonically very good but structurally poor.
A missed occasion.
I never really understood the point of building tension to release in the exact same beat. Do really people enjoy that? And he does that twice. At the second break I was like "ok, here comes a melody, or at least something that resembles one, or some sort of a diversion? but no..." the exact same verse over and over again. In other words boriiiiiiiiiing!
And yes, melody is important. Melody plays a big part in what Alpha said about something "memorable". And no, don't jump at me thinking I'm saying there can't be good trance without a proper melody. There is, but to make one the track should be really well thought out. It should be something really tight & serious. In other words it should kick your ass cause of how brutal it is!
