For anyone who has sampled the original lines of Jamie XX’s – “Loud Places” fea. Romy will recall the watery quality of the track, and an understated template of mood making music. The tune gets tackled by one of the busiest remixing giants on the dance music circuit, behold! - Jaap Ligthart, as part of the Stripped Muzik Free downloads series.
Jaap continues with the restraint of the original work, but fills in the gap with much more musicality. This time around the de rigueur echoing in to space synth line and a disembodied diva’s vocalism by Romy, is same, yet he treats it with oodles of Deep House tinged beats, chorus chimes that light up the back ground; that constructed floor pusher with its deep shuddering bass providing the work out in a work out. Ligthart’s handiwork is artfully presented in the entire spectrum refreshing the original up and making it sound nearly brand new.
