G.M.S (also known as the Growling Mad Scientists) is a Dutch psychedelic trance duo which has attained significant popularity from the early 1990s to the present time (2012).Formed by Shajahan Matkin (also known as Riktam) and Joseph Quinteros (also known as Bansi) in the city of Amsterdam, the duo has attracted a large international fanbase.In 1997 they moved to ibiza, where they live since then. GMS founded Spun Records in 1999, the first psychedelic trance label in the United States and Ibiza, Spain. In 2008, GMS left Spun Records to further concentrate on their own careers and had created in 2009 a new label to release all of their music from their own various bands called Starbox Music. They have sold over 400.000 copies worldwide. Director Tony Scott used GMS tracks in his films Man on Fire, Domino and Unstoppable. GMS won the Psy-Trance award twice (in 2001 and 2009) at the Pacha Ibiza DJ Awards.
Riktam & Bansi have come to be known under a variety of monikers over the last decade, having achieved their greatest success so far under their Growling Mad Scientists project, with a total of eight artist albums, tracks appearing on over 150 releases and more than 200,000 album sales, their studio wizardry is unquestionable. Normally known for a more driving sound, the "Riktam & Bansi" project sees them embark in a different direction, towards a style which encompasses a slower more groove-oriented techno backbone. While retaining all of their flavor for the dancefloor, their productions as Riktam & Bansi show the breadth and diversity of their studio skills, without losing any of their unique take on melody or sound construction. Riktam & Bansi's 'Green Space' was their debut release as this project and reaching number 2 in the Top Download charts at Beatport while simultaniously dominating the Beatport Prog House charts with 4 tracks in the Top Ten, including a number 1 placement held over months, and their releases are already receiving huge support from respected artists like Moguai, Nick Warren, Groove Armada, Eric Prydz, Amo & Navas and D-Nox to name only a few.

After many years of mind melting energetic gigs playing tag sets as DJ’s they have decided to combine their talents and experience. The Duo is currently based out of Montreal Canada but each come from different Canadian cities. As Dj’s the pair has spent the last few years playing all over Canada at many of the country’s premier Psychedelic trance parties and festivals, as well having shared the stage with many talented international live acts such as: Avalon, Atmos, BioGenisis, Materia and many more... Protocell works directly with North Americas one and only Psychedelic trance community center Studio Sundari (ww.studiosundari.com).
