Ibiza closing parties (pg. 2)

I'm actually not going out the first 2 nights that I am there, wanted to absorb some Spanish culture if possible before partying. I'm completely happy with my 3-5 events (depending on circumstance) that I have lined up for the rest of the trip.
Trying to decide between a day trip to Formentera (ferry & moto) or the Cirque de la Nuit boat from PDB. Leaning toward Formentera I think.
I'm going solo, but there seems to be activities options on this semi-shady site that re-directs in the booking process:
http://www.formenteranatural.com/Fo...om%20Ibiza.html
The Catamaran sailing trip would have been nice but it ended in August. |

absorb the spanish culture? lol
you need a solid week there to even begin adapting, don't sell yourself short on the parties, the clubs are world class
definitely eat local - pan con alioli, paella, cortado's, etc
I would do the day trip 100%
those "boat parties" or catamaran parties to me are kinda ehhhhhhhh
the best advice I can give anyone going to ibiza is - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING IN ADVANCE! Wait until you get to the island to buy stuff, that includes club tickets too, don't buy online a head of time you can get into the clubs by getting wristbands and entering before 12/1230/1am for 20EU or less, online presale is like 50EU don't get got I warned you |

for Formentera, i'd just take the Ferry over around 11am/12 noon. rent a scooter or taxi a taxi to Juan and Andrea... plop down on the beach, spend the day in the sun, get some food and take a 7 or 8pm ferry back. |

Shoot. I already got Space closing fiesta and Circoloco closing tix on RA. Was going to buy a presale Digweed @ Insane Pacha closing too, the last thing I want is to get shut out of the party that I flew all this way to attend.
Was going to roll the dice on Sinclar/Fatboy Slim and VIVa Warriors. Not sure if I'd even make it to Sankey's after Space closing, depends on how early Cox/Wink/Fanciulli spin, if the party is still decent at Space late night (starts at 4:30 pm), and if I have enough energy to trek to another party. I'm sure there are a lot of good names on that Space lineup in which I am unfamiliar too. I would really love to catch Lawler's VIVa Warriors closing set though. |

That sounds like a plan. |

Is Café del Mar still open? Is that still a thing to do, go see a sunset there?
I was too hung over that day to go with my friends the last time I was in Ibiza 14 years ago. |

| Cafe deal Mar is still there, but Cafe Mambo is much more popular and right next to it. But yes, that's still the place to go to watch the sunset. |

you can buy tickets on the island, they have ticket outlets everywhere and they do have special tickets (before 12 = 20eu, before 1 = 25eu, after 2 = full price 45/50/60 eu)
i wouldn't buy anything online to be honest
wednesdays were the shot days for me - la familia at ushuaia (great new party highly recommended), paradise @ dc10, then go to HYTE late night like 4am onwards.
This makes Monday night (circo loco first / cocoon late after 4am), Tues (Cox), Wed (above), Thurs (Richie but he's done for the year), and Friday (music ON) totally locking in your week. No rest for the wary though, gotta keep yourself going as each and every party is unique in its own and the clubs are all decorated to the liking.
i did formentera all day thursday, 1230 ferry from old town (transmapi) and a 730/8pm sunset return ferry, dinner in oldtown and then home to change and get ready for enter/richie hawtin
I did the sunset at cafe mambo and idk it kinda feels like sant antoni is kinda dead now, maybe its cuz I went so late in the season, it just wasn't anything all that special. it was good to say I was there at both places I just didn't see giant crowds posted up there. |

My new favorite sun set place is Sunset Ashram. Way better food and more secluded than Mambo / Del Mar.
You can totally go to clubs and take in the Spanish cutlure, most things are closed for the day or half the day because of siesta. Going into Ibiza Town from noon to 3pm is pretty much a ghost town, especially sunday. The islanders eat dinner really late. You can go out all night and sleep through most of the morning and not miss anything local. |
