^ my bad, I see you were born in '84. Pokémon definitely catered to teens at the time as well. Hell, there was this man who was damn near 30 in '99 selling pokemon cards out of his 1st floor apartment window. he ended up moving after some kids smashed into his window and stole his pokemon collectibles. crazy time.

My 8 year old nephew is big on the pokemans, these new pokemans look pretty bad.

How can we forget, with the current generation of lamentable kidults unwilling to grow out of any of the comfortingly juvenile from their childhood?

The accuracy of this assessment of 90's kids is unmatched..we may very well be the generation of kidults that drives the world into the ground.

just like trance, its apex was in 1999. it was probably the biggest Japanese import at the turn of the century. people in my age group born from like '87-90 were the biggest targets at the time.

I'm irrationally psyched about Pokemon Go. It's a mobile platform game. They hired the guys that made ingress, so it's all about your geographical location. Think about it. You could battle with the guy in the stall next to you at target. Better yet, corner, intimidate and abuse 6 year olds at the mall to force them to trade you their shiny arcanine. real life team rocket.

I think the previous generation is going to do that before we get the chance...

Edit:
Besides, I'd rather have world conflicts solved with Pokemon battles rather than actual battles.

When I read this, first thought was damn straight, and second thought was this applies to anyone over the age of 18 that still plays more than 1 hour a week of video games.

If I was a little younger, I would've been all over this. But hey, I don't judge you at all bruh.

Seeing that video games are a much more profitable industry than films these days, that would be more or less everyone.

I don't play video games at all but I don't see why I should consider myself superior to those who do.
