I'm finally a member of this site. I've been listening to trance for over half of my life and I take a particular interest to vocal trance (the kind of mysterious or deep vocal trance if you catch my drift). Lately I've been having trouble locating the types of songs I like, which is why I joined this forum. Context first: I really like Luminary (especially "Amsterdam", but First State's "Brave", Cold Rush's "Cry Wolf", Stadiumx's "Howl at the Moon" and others similar to those are my favorite. I would depict them as vocal trance songs that go very well with driving at night through fog or on a long road. I'm searching for more music like this. I'm not into really "happy" vocal trance, just amazing vocals with a deeper melody that would be perfect for driving at night. Thanks guys.

Wht sub-genre of trance would these fall into? Surely it's not just vocal trance as most vocal trance I hear is really upbeat in both tune and voice.

I'm 29 but have been listening since I was about 13. Astral Projection (I think they are SFX now???) and Ministry of Sound got me started, though I realize they aren't what I rely listen to now. I do enjoy the songs you mentioned. Generally male vocals don't score too high with me but that song (and London Rain) is an exception. Thanks!

You might want to check Lisa List (TranceDivine) at Facebook or Youtube. She's a Trance promoter, and I think the best one.
Some of this will probably be a bit too dancey for your taste but hopefully there's something in here you'll like!

It may also be worth noting that Tritonal's "kiss me here" sparks my interest, as well as "touch the sun" by Barlett. Any idea on which labels I should keep an eye/ear out for that focus on songs like the ones you all have shared?

This would fall under the lines of either progressive or melodic vocal trance. I was also a huge sucker for this type of sound as well. I had no idea you could chop up vocals in such a way that it became another instrument of sound. I'm not sure if you're looking for newer or older stuff, but I'm gonna take a stab at it with what got me stuck on this type of trance for a while.
(No actual vocals on this one, but full of chop ups)
