I guess, since I never did learn to objectively analyze subjective matters.

I'm sure that sounded very withering and clever in your head. Nobody's demanding objectivity, and some would even argue the pleasure of an Internet forum is reading the fleshed out observations, opinions and associations of other music lovers, even if they are (gasp!) "subjective".

Alas, for you the pleasure of coming on TA seems to reside in acting out a tediously thorough performance of Internet Policeman, forever demanding that threads go in the correct sub-forum, that topics are not veered from and that their subject matter satisfies your painfully dry criteria of validity.

Because this thread is so full of those fleshed out observations.

If the armchair psychologist says so, it must be true.

We certainly got nothing out of you.

Not sure why specifically 2001 is mentioned, as there are lots of good stuff from the '00 era in general.

that was the apex of progressive house in terms of worldwide popularity. then again, there was truly something golden about progressive house in the year 1993. if you want to include the years surrounding 2001, then I guess that's fine.

I'll go for 2001 prog any day, i was 7 at 93 and wasn't really into electronic music, had barely 2 years to enjoy 00 era prog in clubs before it ended, the 00 era prog have this dark and aggressive vibe which i like.

a lot of milleni prog posted so I guess most people prefer 2001. personally, I prefer '93 prog. Alpha said the old school stuff is generally better and I agree. there's good and bad tracks from both years though.

Hmm, don't really know much about 2001 prog house, 2002-2005 was more my forte. Then again, I know the OP has this strange obsession with proving how much better 90's PH is to millennial prog, and I'm not sure why.

Anywho, this would be my pick for 2001. Never heard anything like it before, and haven't heard anything like it now. Just floating, bouncing, drug-induced goodness.

^not a bad track. there were certainly studs like Slacker who maximized their potential as producers. He made a progressive hous record under the Ramp guise but I can't find a video on youtube. this is 1993 progressive house :D
