Armin where dat trance at..........
Woony
We all know you need at least 11 "feats" for a great trance album.
Mr.Mystery
Is anyone really surprised about this?
Sykonee
that cover is all wrong. Armin's the happy go-lucky face of EDM. He shouldn't be looking all scowling and serious. He should be smiling. Here, someone 'ch0p this appropriate picture in its place:

Well, in a way, yes. Armin built his brand on being "the trance guy" delivering trance on his radio show A State Of Trance to the "trance family". You get the idea, that's a lot of "trance" in his brand. There is no trance in this record, which even a lot of his cheese-loving followers have noticed, if you look at the youtube comments. So by going EDM, he risks alienating his trance-acolytes, who he could have milked for all eternity with the cheese trance bull. In addition to that, the EDM market is incredibly overcrowded and volatile, while the trance niche is very save and steady.

Hasn't Armin been playing EDM for the last several years? I thought this was his typical style and what he normally considers Trance.

Armin still plays some trance. "Face of Summer" sounds like old school trance(for about the first 2 mins until the cheese and fart noises come in:p)

I caught him this summer playing a "GAIA" set and was impressed: Old school Dark, driving, melodic trance. Why he doesn't stick to that GAIA sound is beyond me, but the guy is raking in coin so.....

Don't know if it's true but at his FB page some one mentioned a Gaia album will be released next year. I'm not following Armin but was curious about the comments regarding Embrace.

Last night Armin was here in the Netherlands in a Late Night Show together with some of the musicians he worked with. Next to that Benno de Goeij, his wife, brother, mum and dad and his inspirator Ben Liebrand.
I must say it was a very nice show, regardless that I don't like the Embrace album.
The trumpet in the Embrace track is awful even when one of the best is playing it. It annoys me he keeps mentioning trance.

The ballad with Gavin Degraw was the track he was most afraid of, while I think that would be the least to worry about. Like trance fans never heard a chill-out version of a track.

Who wants to see the show will need to learn Dutch, but here it is:

all power to Armin. just like Jay-Z said, if you ain't talking about large money, what's the point?
