WMC/MMW 2016 Dates

A little concerned with the date release of WMC 2016 (March 21-24) vs. MMW (March 15-20).

...there is no overlap at all. Booked hotel for MMW months ago...now I'm not sure if I should cancel and rebook for WMC.

Any ideas on the better of the 2 weeks? Planning Tues-Sun either week, but if WMC ends on Thursday, I doubt there be sponsored/official events through that weekend.

WMC itself isn't a draw anymore unless you're in the industry. If you want to go to the parties, it's MMW all the way. I'm sure there will still be some good going on for the actual WMC dates but the week to be there will undoubtedly be Miami Music Week.

Thanks! That makes sense and is evident from the last few years of my attendance.

We don't do Ultra, but hit a lot of the smaller club and hotel events. Change of Pace, Guesthouse parties, and a couple of pool parties.

If MMW will house most of the action I'm looking for (house, tech, tech house)then I will leave reservations as is. Thanks again!

Cool man, it's always a good time. WMC/MMW has always been my favorite multi-day event to do every year. And yes I'm including the European stuff too (though gotta admit, Awakenings at Gashouder trumps anything but you can only do that so many nights). It's local, and the variety of parties are just unmatched. Between small clubs, big clubs, massive pop-ups, small pop-ups, beach parties, yacht parties, pool parties, festivals, you name it. The vibe down in Miami is always good for electronic music and for that week it's increased tenfold.

What is MMW technically even?

When will Get Lost, Paradise, Circo Loco and the yacht parties on the Lady Windrage/Bicayne Lady (Diggers etc.) be? Are these parties part of MMW?

MMW is what WMC has become. WMC is now geared more towards workshops and networking events. MMW is the actual week of partying when all clubs, beach parties, pool parties and yacht parties take place. there will be events during WMC but MMW is what you want for the main events.

What dates do you think the events I mentioned will fall on.

Because historically they have been the last weekend of March and I'm not 100% sure they will all bump up to the second to last weekend.

Last Sunday in March (27th) is Easter this year so that could be a determining factor.

Found this on WMC Info:

"Rather than running concurrently with Ultra Music Festival like in years past, Winter Music Conference will immediately follow Ultra Music Festival. Ultra Music Festival is scheduled for March 18-20, 2016 and Miami Music Week (organized by Ultra Music Festival) is scheduled for March 15-20, 2016. Given the spread of dates, we suspect most people will arrive sometime between March 15-18 and leave sometime between March 21-24 in order to hit up all three attractions."

That's the death blow for Conference. I would do MMW that's when everything is going to happen when the majority of artists are in town. Easter weekend you have Awakenings, DGTL and Timewarp in Europe so that weekend the big artists are going to be out.

ADE, IMS, EDM Biz all better for business at least nowadays.
