Classic Music Company Co-founder and Defected family member, Luke Solomon (UK) has been instrumental in shaping the underground dance music scene for nearly 3 decades with globetrotting performances, chart topping productions and leading record label releases via Classic. With partner Derrick Carter, they run the highly influential Label - Classic Music Company. In the early years they released ground breaking tracks by Rob Mello, DJ Sneak and Honey Dijon and in recent we have seen releases by the likes of Seven Davis Jr., Detroit Swindle, Krankbrother, Denney, Tigerskin, Till Von Sein, PBR Streetgang and Nick Monaco just to name a few. This impressive and diverse roster of both seasoned and contemporary artists sheds light on the level of impact Solomon has had in the underground music world over the years.
As a producer, his output spans the spectrum from warm, deep grooves to boisterous dark room techno, on famed labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Playhouse, Classic and Rekids. His work with Justin Harris as Freaks catapulted him into the UK charts, with their single, ‘The Creeps’ and in 2014 we saw a final Freaks album emerge. As the Freaks chapters came to an end, new chapters also began; allowing the artist to put a keen focus on a fresh new solo EP with a feeling of - “just warm, straight up house music” . Fixtures in Toronto's underground house scene for the last three decades, Toronto Hustle (Mark Kufner and Jeff Graham) have been hard at work over the last year. They have been tirelessly working in the studio and are now releasing on some of the most respected labels in house music…including Distant music, DNH and Strobe Records. Their combined knowledge and passion for straight up house music has seen them play at many of Toronto's premier venues and warehouse events. They have shared the stage with such iconic artists such as Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Dennis Ferrer, Kenny Dope, Detroit Swindle, Satoshi Tomiie, Ron Trent, The Martinez Brothers and Derrick Carter. As partners, they are known for playing an eclectic mixture of new, old and obscure records. With just under 50 years of combined DJ experience between them, they continue to evolve as DJs and now producers as well. Irene Torres grew up listening to a blend of Hip Hop, Blues and Funk. When she found her path to the recording studio, she also found her love for House and Soul music. Today, Irene is the front-woman of award winning, Indie Blues, band 'Irene Torres & The SugarDevils' and Afro Peruvian Collective, 'Quinta'. She has also recently been featured on “Calor” by 'Sol Azul' of Nice & Smooth Records and “Oye Mira” by Flamenco Latin fusion project Santerias.
