Does anyone else have consistency issues?

Not necessarily commitment issues, but consistency issues.

For example: I work out for 2 weeks straight, then something comes up where I can't work out for a day or two (might get piss drunk one night for instance) and then I don't work out for like a month or at all...

Or I try a new soap or something on my face, and then I don't use it for like a day or two, then I stop using it altogether even though its easily accessible

Why can't I do something consistently? I acknowledge that I'm really lazy, but I mean, why the hell can't I keep doing something?

I'm not looking for self pity, but I'm wondering if there are people out there with the same issues and if so, how did you overcome it?

Discipline brother. Discipline.

There are tonnes of resources to help you with that. Work on your willpower.

I'm the same way. We're not machines and need variety in our lives. Don't worry about it.

Get into routines. Routines are the key for making sure day-to-day gets done consistently. If something is automatic and done without thinking it's more likely to be done consistently and more likely to be done properly. If you want to do a certain activity consistently, pick certain days of the week to do it. Pick a certain time of day. Make it a routine. Force yourself to follow the pattern for a few weeks and it'll quickly become natural.

Anyone moaning that this is constricting their free spirit and making them feel like a "machine" is probably a scatterbrained mess who hasn't got their together.

There's an app for that. Check out Procaster on the iOS store. It lets you time tasks, program reminders.

Write to-do notes. Read them everyday.

Drink whey protein.

You just lack focus, Son.

I think this is a big cultural issue with some correlation to socioeconomic and ethnic parameters. Down the consistency gradient I have personally found that my Asian friends require 'extra work' in terms of consistency - in order to harvest more friendships you have to allocate time and effort and honor appointments. Some cultures value this more than orhers. [American] acquaintances and friends, are underwhelmingly casual about relationship management. I know of a German Buddihst who runs a Temple in the city and complains people are lax about their attendance.

BAM! Think of it as a lifestyle change. Something you do for the rest of you life! It's like wiping my ass. Sometimes I forget... but most of the times, I'm pretty consistent.

I just ing suck at being consistent.

I try to get into routines and just fail most of the time.

I'm super routine oriented. At least for me, I find having routines for most day to day things maximizes my amount of free time, simply because having those routines make me very efficient.
