Gift to my girlfriend - beginner dj set

Hello everybody, my girlfriend said she whould like a dj set
I really have no idea on where to start from...
She has laptop, headphones, and speakers. What kind of equipment she would need? She is not a dj, it would be just to make fun at home with friends. My budget is about 400 USD, do you think I can afford to buy basic equipment? Which brand/model? Thanks |

Depends on how serious she wants to get?
Will she be using just the laptop speakers or will you need to plug into a stereo system?
does she actually want to mix or just play songs one after another?
Download Serato Intro Or Traktor LE - they are FREE software mixing programs which plays the music files on your computer and lets you mix, beatmatch, use effects etc, you don't need any extra controllers or fancy equipment to connect to the computer to use it although they are compatible with a large amount of controllers.
My suggestion would be to play around with those first before laying out any money on controllers, you may find she is happy just mixing using the software. |
