Hair Care Products

Do you have favorite hair care product?

At a recent stay at a upscale hotel they stocked it with Aveda. In particular I got hooked on their Rosemary Mint shampoo. I've never been one to spend more than a few bucks on shampoo...but dam this is over priced. Can see why they stock those free samples to get you hooked.

It's priced so high because high end products are made with better ingredients, and usually you don't have to use as much of them. You can buy cheap , but you will go through it faster and it will end up costing you the same in the long run, without the benefits you get from the high end products. There is science behind hair and what you put on it, it actually does matter.

I mean obviously it's also a marketing thing, but those products typically aren't available outside of salons, either.

I actually used to use Aveda products, and that particular shampoo. Loved it. I always loved the way their products smelled. All of their products are vegan as far as I know. I had no reason to stop using their products other than I switched salons.

I currently use Pureology products, which is also a 100% vegan line. As I was saying up top, their products are concentrated so I only need a quarter of the amount and go through a bottle of shampoo and conditioner in 4 or 5 months. So at 30ish bucks a pop, it actually makes sense.

Hair is my one point of vanity, I don't baby any of my physical attributes the way I baby my hair, lol.

What you mean by vegan? I never thought about animal products in a shampoo.

I like the smell and tingling feel of the mint. I really don't use a lot of shampoo so maybe I will order a bottle.

Vegan = 100% plant based. I think they just label it vegan because motherers love that .

Sounds better than "no meat by products"

i spend $200/mo on hair products to stop testosterone from converting to DHT.

I'm not even balding.

Aveda turned to crap ever since it was sold to Estee Lauder. They smell nice but that's about it.

Pureology is the biggest scam in the market. 100% vegan lol. One born every minute.

It's vegan because it doesn't contain any animal products (kinda hard to find one that does lol). It's chocked full of chemicals most of which have moderate health warning and many are only FDA approved for short contact use (i.e. wash off ingredients, which I don't think should even exist - it'll only kill you if you leave it on for more than 10 mins etc. that).

Most of the major haircare brands are junk that are designed to contain chemicals that lightly coat your hair in things like plastics or change the protein bonds through checmical reactions and long term, neither are good for your hair.

The best of the pseudo-natural brands is Alterna. Minimal nasty chemicals and a lot of natural ingredients.

Rahua is a completely natural hair care brand although some say it stops working are several months usage so you'll have to switch it up. The body Deli products are nearly exactly the same story. Faith in nature is a really good line if you want simple natural ingredients.

Lol at head and shoulders too - probably one of the worst in terms of ingredients on the market. I bet you use imperial leather to ash you face with.

Oh is RANN talking again (I only know because another memeber messaged me saying it would probably be a chore to hang with RANN in real life re: his post in this thread)? I"m surprised more people don't have him on ignore.

He's totally that Kirsten Wiig character, the annoying one upper chick. Lol.
