Nice tracklist.

Will give this a listen.

This is clearly blackplasma, isn't it? I've still never figured out your original account.

Tracklist looks... interesting, certainly, for a 2016 trance set. Has the typical look of someone scraping together whatever good tracks that are out there to be found. I mean, Son Kite two tracks away from Ottoviani? I'll probably have a listen just to see if you can pull it off.

Well, that's exactly what it is! I make no apologies for being firmly rooted in the fluffy days of the early 2000s when no-one batted an eyelid to seeing, say, James Holden, Armin and Marco V in the same set, so this is gonna reflect that. I still tried to make it build in the way a typical trance set should. The Ottaviani tune isn't like his typical output, reminded me more of old Signum tracks.

This isn't going to change anyone's mind on trance in 2016. It's just a collection of tunes that remind me of a certain era, and a way of showing support to certain labels and artists I do still like.

Why do you hide your nationality? It doesn't take a super-sleuth to figure out that you're from the UK.

This was pretty good, actually. You made it work better than I thought you would. I've heard some of your older sets where you've had a nice thing going and then thrown in some psy because there just aren't enough good tunes out there to fill a whole trance set. I did fear this would be a similar story.

The weakest moment of this set was the Critical Choice track followed by the Ottaviani remix. These kind of tracks are obviously those that are just passable enough to plug the gaps. The rest was good though - you made the System 7 and Son Kite tracks work well in the mix.

The mixing and flow were very good - it sounds like you construct sets in the same I way I did/do - leaning heavily on key mixing, planning each transition carefully, really thinking about tracks that will work together in certain moments of the set. I tried to move away from such perfectionism because it's agonising, but when you're trying to make a modern non- trance set you really have to put this kind of effort in. It paid off here.

Oops... really should have replied to this by now. Thanks for taking the time to listen and leave feedback, much appreciated - especially since you enjoyed it :)

Totally agree on the agonising aspect. I sometimes spend too long planning a tracklist and then get bored of a mix before I've put it together. This nearly had Gouryella's 'Anahera' in it at one stage :/ I think I'm glad I decided against that one.

I kind of agree about the weak section, although I like 'Out Of Orbit' for it's Hale Bopp vibe. The Ottaviani remix was one of those where without it there would have been a jarring key clash, but with it a potantially weak tune. But I'm not trying to 'make it' or gain followers so in the end it doesn't really matter, I just like to make to occasional mix for myself and throw it out there.

I've listened to this as well. It's an absolutely brilliant mix - I've crated over 50% of the tracks on Beatport
