I remember liking this one quite a bit when it came out on Musashi a couple of years back. It strikes a very nice balance between being more punchy and driving, while still having all those lush, reverbed atmospheres that have become Verche's signature.
Compared to that release, the album is a bit too mellow and similar sounding for my liking over fifteen tracks, and the drums sound a bit too clean and simple. The more downtempo/beatless tracks on here are still beautiful, though. I think his sound lends itself better to that than trance, to be honest. I've played his beatless take on Just Like That an absurd amount of times, and I might just like the version of No One Left Behind here even more. |
