just read the article lol its written by someone who doesn't have a clue. If they've just signed a landmark deal, they're set financially. It doesn't matter what they were doing in 2014, they've attracted significant funding in 2015. The statement from the auditor is something they have to say because on the face of it the numbers aren't great, but they're also reflective of what all start ups look like during a growth phase.

soundcloud is a double edged sword because it makes it so easy to get your music out there...but it also severely devalues your music....if you make good music...

and theres only two types of music...good music..and everythin else

Just host your vids/music on Facebook or YouTube, or torrent it.

Some of these companies are basically giant Ponzi schemes - they rely on later investment to pay off the earlier investors. I know a guy who has made millions of investing in startups that to this day have never made a penny, but becuase they keep getting investments his shares become worth more and more so he keeps chipping away at them and make a ton.

Back OT, I very much doubt that Soundcloud is going anywhere for the time being.

Bingo

It'll end up becoming part of iTunes or Virgin Media etc as an 'added value' part of something people are already paying for.

Friends Re-united is going and I see Kindle sales are not holding up.

This epitomises a general trend whereby people sign-up for the latest platforms and then come to realise they really don't much need them in their lives. Personally I cannot stand Facebook - full of narcissistic people pretending to live the perfect life, and I don't know about anyone else but all this stuff gets in the way and distracts me.

SC is fairly well conceived and has a huge number of users so I hope it survives, but who knows.

On a related note, it seems the ill-fated TIDAL may be in real trouble....

They're basically begging people to subscribe now and it's losing money hand over fist.
