Ich weiss schon, was für ein schones Stadt es ist, aber;
wie geht's dort mit dem Trance Scene?? Gibt's sontiges clubs, die ich besuchen soll?
Vielen, vielen dank!!!

as far as I know is Austria still most into Classic and the biggest "rave" is the "Wiener Opernball" ;)
Sorry i was a bit of jocking, because i have no clue how th Trance-situation in Austria is. Swiss is near and has a great Trance-Scene, probally a Member from South-Germany or Munich knows more about the situation in Wien. Munich isn´t that far away I think and 1-2 times a year Paul van Dyk is spinning there.... |

Swiss is near? Dude you are a geographic wildpig ( Wildsau :D )
HAHA, Swiss is on my side of Austria and that is 700 kilometers away from Vienna (+ on that side of Switzerland there isnt much going on! ) :rolleyes:
Munich is still about 600 kilometers from Vienna ;)
As far as I know there arent much trance parties going. Mainly big discos like Nachtschicht but no real trance clubs. |

Hello Ilina,
first of all congrats and compliments to your great German! Did u learn it merely in high school /college? Why did u choose Vienna? I guess being close to me wasn't the ONLY reason, was it? ;)
Seriously, here a few facts about Austria's Electronic scene:
Trance is unknown. Nobody knows and cares for the likes of Tiesto Armin and Ferry (PVD bing the only exceptation) nor is there any known Club playing progressive (Sasha or Howells for example have and probably never will preform here :( )
So what do we have? The scene is predominately overshadowed by commercial bull á la Scooter, Pulsedriver or Gigi D'agostino (if that says tells ya something). Many MANY people follow the trend and proclaim themselves as "techno fans" wearing Clow-like clothes and having no clue about real dance music.
On the other hand if Techno and Drum n Bass is ur then u'll enjoy Vienna (and my town). Rush Liebing Clark Baily and Umek play here on a regular basis. We've got the Loveparade in July (one week before Berlin'sone) which is damn cool and from time to time huge names lik Sven Vaeth and Richie Hawtin will also come and have a gig.(My city Linz has twice a year a festival called Danube rave with dozens of djs on 4 floors, relly recommendable).
As for Drum n Bass I'm not really entitled to judge as my knowledge about the genre is pretty small (yet) but from what I hear and see Vienna is one of Europe's DnB capitals. Many many partiesd every week, clubs like Flex and Silders are known for their excellent dnb and house parties. Also we've got Kruder and Dorfmeister, two of the best DnB producers worldwide.
Concluusion: if you want Trance in Austria, come to Linz and listen to the Cds in my room ;) Otherwise uöö have to adjust yourself musically to Vienna's DnB and Techno environment. Just dont enter one of the big commercial discos! Dotn say I havent warned you :p |

Better come to my place ;) We got a small but good trance scene here with regualar parties ( but no big DJs, except for me :toothless: ) and also only 2 hours away from Zuerich, which is a huge trance scene and some nice clubs ( OXA, KAUFLEUTEN, ROHSTUFFLAGER, FIREHOUSE ... )
Another point is, you got a small but very good recordstore where I am working here ;) |
