I want to work on tracks without the main room light on

any ideas for lighting - just enough so i can see my keyboard and synths?

was thinking of a standard desk lamp but wondering if anyone had a better idea

I got 2 decorative wall mounted lamps on each side of the speakers with a weak led. It lights enough for me to see w/o getting my eyes tired.
Personally I am a sucker for this kind of warm orangy light, most of the time I let them on just for the mood xD

I can't seem to find them right now, but one of the major light manufactures (Sylvania? Phillips?) had some cool lights that lit up the walls in different colors and created really cool ambiance in the room. As I recall, they seemed sorta overpriced, though.

edit: it was Philips Living Colors. Looks like there's a second generation of them now that might be worth looking into, and they're cheaper than I recall the 1st gen being.

Ikea do LED track lighting kits for not a lot of money, although I'm not a huge fan of the brain sapping glow they seem to emit.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm a small strip of the warmer leds underneath the desk edge might be an idea.........

They do other stuff too, but that 4 strip set for £20 is a bargain.

I just have one 5 watt (or is it 9 watt) led globe in the corner of the room on a standing lamp and it provides enough light for me. Modern LED globes sure are a lot brighter and more efficient than they used to be and only about $14. I chose the non-warm version as I also edit images.

the Ikea LED strip lighting; there's much better out there which will put out a warm light.

I bought 60m+ of these from amazon for my business. They're 3200k so a warm led, and they can be dimmed with a remote.

The trick with LED is not to have the LED visible - any surfaces they bounce off diffuse the lite and make it much more natural. It's perfect under desks or trims or on top of cupboards or shelves above the eye line.

Let me know if you need any pointers - I had to give myself a n indepth crash course and ordered several models before I got it right.

That looks really cool (or not....)

So it's possible to have the LED bulbs, but not drill into your skull and steal all your happiness?

Interdasting.....
