I think you'll find it's Tomski "Love Will Come", not Tom Novi! I won't bother bringing up my opinion of Angelic! And Patticus, that person that mentioned Fragma DID had Sonique in the list. Read the message again and you'll see! |
hmm not gonna be nasty...however i seen u flare up about this subject like 5 times or more... 2 or 3 times in this thread, i think we got the message hehe u dont like cheese! i dont like it either been allergic to cheese since i was a nipper, but come on bro loosen up, alot of these people are first time posters on the forums... we all gotta start somewhere aint we? if it means someone likes fragma to start with then 6 months later they become a tiesto fan then they are cured, trouble is if u scare them off straight away they will always be fragma and alice deejay (swear word hehe) fans won't they? Anyway what im tryin to say is try and be in nice you never know you might enjoy it...all done:)
laterz;)
P.s you could even recommend a quality alternative!(something without an item of clothin in the track title hehe) |

| And keep in mind that most people in the US start out listening to cheese LoL. Sad, but true. I've noticed that most of us won't listen to a song unless it has words to it (Americans in general). |

| Okay people, since every1 is saying basically every song is cheesy...what is "cheesy"??? define for me what this derogatory word is..please. |
|

word to mucka and teknohead.
zokle - cheese is a little hard to DEFINE, but it basically applies to an instantly "catchy" track with simple, shallow composing (see => in the riff or breakdown)
like, atb - 9pm till i come or alice deejay - better off alone
you listen to enough trance, you'll get a feel for it... and probably expand your "cheese horizons" to ayla for example
and then the elitist start bashing lots of good songs, like timo mass - ubik and even sasha & emerson - scorchio (SACRILEGE!!!!!!!!!)
i personally enjoy some, like the occasional fragma, but stuff like "castles in the sky" pisses me off to no avail.
its also become the cool thing to do, start bashing tracks as cheesy just because you dont like it, or everyone else does...
for example, many people call tiesto's productions (and sets) cheese. in some cases, they're right... but it can be good, such as the magik series |

| There will always exist people who think/claim they are more eL!tE than others. Pretty damn silly IMHO. And I really can't see what they gain from flaming other people for their musical taste. |

Dude mr. patticus, u got somewhat of a point there...but again..kraith has got the idea going. Obviously with your music degree i think you should tell us what's good and what's not. :P. Cheese is good, i like mild cheddar myself. |

U should enjoy whatever you listen to and don't be forced by the small minority who will find something negative in what ever your preference is... i was just gettin fed up with coming into the forums and seein people bitchin about the same old ... like we care what is classed as cheese and what aint...anyway is there like a cheese test before the vinyl is pressed? you know mebbe the vinyl goes along a conveyer belt and theres a huge in mouse sat there sampling each track hehe anyways it so called cheese tracks got me into trance so i kinda owe the commercial e for this great addiction i have now:)

Sorry, I just can't stand it when somebody brings up something I can't stand. I can't stand Fragma "Everytime You Need Me", I don't even consider it to be trance, I consider it to be very cheesy dance pop. There is some cheesy stuff I can listen to. If I hear Sash! for example, on the radio I just leave it on, I can listen to it. But if I hear Fragma Alice Deejay or any commercial hardhouse poop like Pucblic Domain etc I feel like commiting suicide, I can't stand it. I have got some real records in my collection, in early 97 I bought Gina G "Ti Amo" for the Trouser Enthusiasts Mix (funny for somebody who's remixed Armin, Mothers Pride, Tomski etc to also remix stuff like that) which was actually brilliant, but I always feel embaressed when somebody looks through my collection and sees something by Gina G! I also bought a few Dannii Minogue singles for the Trouser Enthusiasts mixes which were spot on (TE mix of "All I Wanna Do" is one of my all time faves), but still it doesn't look good in my collection! Though if you're new to trance I suppose it may be okay listening to Fragma! |

Lol, i just came to think about why such trance/pop has got the name cheese. If it's obvious pls don't flame, but i can't see the relation:) And about that Fragma tune, the Dumonde Mix has nearly no vocals and i think it's a great tune. Just saw someone say that none of the mixes are good, but i think that one is great, and it differs a lot from the original (hence, it's good:p)
Peace |

man, i dont know how you can call sash! cheese... for its time... its classic
maybe if it was produced now. but cmon, with encore un fois, adelante, and all those others (cant come to mind right now)
he's one of the pioneers of dance music.
like someone else said, its true... who cares what is / isnt cheese, just listen to whatever gets you off :) |
