PEOPLE + CULTURE in association with Studio Bar present:
"Dance Like Us" is a new electronic music platform and live performance concept focusing on classic rhythms, deep house and tribal dance, and to kick things off the teams have put together a comprehensive list of local talent alongside a very special headliner guest coming out of LA’s bustling dance music scene.
We are very excited to announce the return of Toronto Hustle and Irene Torres to the stage, alongside a debut performance by Windrush who will be accompanied by musicians playing the saxophone and bongo. Headlining this showcase event is the very talented DJ and Producer URULU who has been making waves in the dance music scene since his debut release on Exploited Recordings, sharing the roster alongside heavyweights such as Adana Twins, Claptone and Doctor Dru, just to name a few.
On Saturday April 16th People + Culture returns to the cool and classy Studio Bar to recreate a vibe which has been talked about for months since their last event. Come join the party on the dance floor for what is anticipated to be another amazing night, surrounded by great people, feel good music and cutting edge performances. A night surely not to be missed!
◈ URULU (LA/BERLIN)
Dirt Crew ▪ Lets Play House ▪ Voyage

https://www.facebook.com/urulumusic
Urulu, real name Taylor Freels, is a California boy through and through. With an innate talent for sunny, contemplative chords and clever drum programming, he quickly caught the ear of Berlin's Dirt Crew, known for releases by Mano Le Tough and Detroit Swindle. He'd then go on to drop critically acclaimed releases on respected imprints such as NYC's Let's Play House as well as taste making UK outlets Needwant and Shabby Doll.
Freels is also a beast on the decks, armed with the chutzpah to mix gnarly Detroit and Chicago emanations with modern, envelope-pushing modern house sounds. Between performances and time spent in the studio, Taylor runs Amadeus, a label of tight-knit producers pushing cutting edge house music from across the globe. In recent months Urulu has just launched a new EP for Melbourne mainstay Voyage Recordings, which is already getting extensive play from top DJs around the world. On Saturday April 16th come and witness the very talented, Urulu, as he makes his debut performance at Studio Bar Toronto for "Dance Like Us”.

◈ TORONTO HUSTLE

Fixtures in Toronto's underground house scene for the last three decades, Toronto Hustle (Mark Kufner and Jeff Graham) have been hard at work over the last year. They have been tirelessly working in the studio and are now releasing on some of the most respected labels in house music…including Distant music, DNH and Strobe Records. Their combined knowledge and passion for straight up house music has seen them play at many of Toronto's premier venues and warehouse events. They have shared the stage with such iconic artists such as Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Dennis Ferrer, Kenny Dope, Detroit Swindle, Satoshi Tomiie, Ron Trent, The Martinez Brothers and Derrick Carter. As partners, they are known for playing an eclectic mixture of new, old and obscure records.
With just under 50 years of combined DJ experience between them, they continue to evolve as DJs and now producers as well. With a hectic production schedule and promising new material for 2016, the sky's the limit for these two veterans of Toronto's underground house music scene. We are very excited to welcome back the duo who delivered a top notch performance for US at our kick off party with Luke Solomon (UK). LISTEN goo.gl/xHkCTT
