oh and by the way, sasha is one of the best DJ's i've seen,, producer tho... =)

Well I made the same thread on the gu board, and someone says that was meant to be a whole, "flow", so I'm dissapointed then...
The first 4 tracks succed in flowing well but then the mix falls apart.

Yes, Sasha had some good help with his album.
But almost all artist has help to produce tracks so its not so strange that sasha had help on his.

But you can ask yourself IF the sound in the tunes would have been the same without Sasha, I think not.

Man, I don't even like Prog for the most part, but add is on my favourite albums of all time list...

It's hard to explain why it's good if you don't groove on it, I personally love the sound though, Wavy Gravy and Requiem are remarkable, and the rest of the album has a nice varied sound that just flows along.

Nothing wrong with disliking it though, there's no such thing as a song or album that *everyone* likes.

i really like the sasha album. not all the tracks on it are dancefloor friendly, but as electronic music, it stays interesting and varied throughout the entire album. much better than most EDM artist albums i've heard, exceptions being royksopp, thievery corporation and layo & bushwacka.

Originally posted by TranceSeeker I heard this album is made as a single track album and not as a mix...So I put my words back then, he'd better just put all the tracks apart then, like bunkka, I always thought it was a "mix".

The CD of ADD is a continuous mix, but the vinyl release has the tracks unmixed for DJs, like most EDM artists albums.

first of all, i think its poorly produced, sounds kinda amateurish.

I totally disagree. The production is absolutely top notch all the way. I mean this wasn't any rush job to cash in on a big single and these guys certainly know what they are doing. You can really appreciate the production when you listen to this with good headphones...

trust me, take me in the studio with tom holkenborg and charlie may and i'll bring you the best tunes you've ever seen..

Yeah, right... and if this album is so poorly produced why are you saying that you would come up with the best tracks ever should you have a chance to work with Charlie and Tom??

I think if the album wasn't done by "Sasha" not even 1/4th of the people who like it now, would have liked it...

Is it so hard to believe that there are a lot of people who genuinely like this? That being said, it's true that the album has gotten much more attention because of Sasha but there's nothing wrong with that. And I also think that because it's done by "Sasha" people might be a bit more willing to give the album a chance to grow on themselves.. I mean, I wasn't all that impressed after the initial spin but I wasn't ready to give up on this album so easily after all that waiting... and I'm glad I didn't. Album of the year, period.

ADD grows on me every time i listen to it. the first time i heard it i was very disappointed but now i listen to it quite a lot. once i stopped listening for the "old style" that sasha played i was able to appreciate it a lot more.

Airdrawndagger is w/out a doubt the greatest work of electronic music ever composed ('produced' doesn't do justice to this masterpiece) outside the classical avant-garde realm. It is so ahead of it's time and stands apart from anything else made in contemporary dance music it's not even funny.

I say this because I'm a classical musician and a music student, and everytime I show ADD to a professor or another person knowledgeable in music they always react with the same awe and disbelief: "You mean this is not a work of some famous composer?, Amazing!".

Airdrawndagger is not for the dancefloor, it's music candy for the brain. It makes most other prog productions seem banal and trivial. This is the album that will be remembered for ages to come as the masterpiece classic of the progressive dance movement. Mark my words.

From beginning to end the atmosphere produced by whoever composed it(and i couldn't care if it wasn't just Sasha) is unmatched. This is truly epic grandiose piece of art that takes the listener into a true intellectual experience rich with so many subtleties you could listen to it over and over again always discovering something new. Words can't do justice to Airdrawndagger.

LOL mate I respect your opinion on that but I guess u haven't listened to northern exposure...THAT'S what I call a candy for the ear. And I mean From the start till the end, add compared to northern exposure is crap...take this with some salt & pepper.
But northern exposure is really 10X better then this one, it starts off and doesn't let you go till the end...add starts off well, and after 4 tracks the mix completely falls apart...
Dunno if u already heard ne, well if not, listen to it and enjoy ;)

It truly is amazing! I agree with you there. Unlike other dance music that constantly repeats itself, we see Sasha's Level 8 Piano Skills goto work here for real. ADD's music is much like classical thrown into the electronic genre and that's a real large stepup. We just need more productions like this.
