Ive never missed this guy when he's been in Toronto, and there is no way in hell im missing this time.
Hans, I missed Ferry cuz i went to Cuba. But ill be there this time.
Ohhhhh !!!!
actually he played the first wintergalactic in 99 or 00 and i hadnt heard of him yet, so ya, i have missed him, damn. |

Last night, October 31st, at the DJ Magazine ´DJ Top 100´ award the new annual DJ top 100 of the world was anounced. Tiësto was officially elected the number one DJ in the world.
Tiësto, who was at number six last year, is the first non British DJ to win this prestigious award. Last year Sasha, Paul van Dijk, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Tenaglia and John Digweed were held in higher regard. Now these gentlemen will have to grant Tiësto the honour of being the best DJ in the world for a whole year. Tijs Verwest, as he is known in real life, won several Dutch and international awards, earlier this year. He is currently touring for 5 weeks in the U.S. hitting all the major cities. In Las Vegas he was informed about his number one position and immediately launched into celebrations. He was extremely happy with the result and very surprised, despite all the awards he won this year. Tïësto:`This is like my ultimate dream come true, becoming number 1 in DJ Mag´s top 100!`.
The DJ Mag top 100, which was held for the 8th time, is the worldwide standard from which to measure a DJ´s popularity. Since 1993, when the Top 100 was first published , it is the list used by promotors, clubowners and organisations to determine who will be the most appreciated artists for their crowds. The reason why it is so highly regarded, is that the list is completely unbiased and compiled entirely from the people´s votes. It is the most respected, valued and feared DJ chart in the world. DJ´s who have been on the number one spot are Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha and John Digweed. From September 6th untill October 10th the people could vote. DJ Magazine will be available worldwide in stores today.

Congrats to him...now PvD needs to take #1, I bet he's getting tired of the number 4 slot. One thing that pisses me off about the DJ Mag list, is it really isn't "BEST" 100 DJ's of the year, but most popular DJ. I'm not bashing Tiesto...this is about the rest of the list. DJ's like Nick Warren and Dave Seaman are no where to be found in top 20!! And then you have Judge Jules and Corsten in the top 10 :rolleyes: And major congrats to Marco V as well...he was like 85th last year or something, and now he's in the top 30 (maybe even the top 20, not sure...don't have the list around me, can't be arsed to look for it).
Anyways, props to Tiesto...even tho I don't agree with him being #1 for 2002, the man got me hooked on the electronic music scene, so good job :) |
