well i got on the TA hub last night for the first time. seeing how fricken slow it is compaired to my 30-500kbytes/s transfers in blubster, i decided to just download a bunch of stuff and leave it over night and... all day.
little did i know, i underestimated the power if lots and lots of really really slow transfers to get me capped in the morning by the university.
now going from 6000kbits/s to... 30kbits/s really sux especially all day. 12:00am...IM UN_CAPPED, BABY!
i think im not gonna sleep tonite and just...bask in highspeed heaven :D |

If your going from 6,000 to 30 on the TA hub, odds are its not your line. The other person your getting a file from has to upload it to you... even if your downstream is 5 mb/s, if the other person is on a dialup you wont get faster than 3 kb/s.
Btw I reccomend you dont uncap your cable. Its not to hard to spot, just look for the person whoring extreme amounts of bandwidth on your local hub (not talking about the TA hub). Un capping is a quick way to get yourself booted.
If its still fluxing hard elsewhere (like games, loading webpages, downloading files from normally fast and stable servers), then your just getting a lot of load on your local hub. Switch to DSL |

no its not the ta hub im blaming...connections in ta hub is just slowa$$ i know that : P i would be happy with 30kb/s...even 3kb/s becuase i was getting 50 BYTES!
no im at a university so i have a certain alotted download/upload limit. they automatically cap me for the rest of the day if i go over it.
as for the cable modem... i though tabout that until i found out that you can get fined or put in jail in extreme cases since uncapping cable/dsl modems is considered theft of bandwith or soemthing... anyhow, yeah
its just geat when i cant see what files the page is loading becuase it loads too fast : P |
