would anyone want to remix a track of mine?

Im releasing an oldschool progressive house track on mistiquemusic, and I get some freedom in picking remixers, so im seeing if anyone wants to have a go. I'll show you the track, you tell me what you want from it, and ill export the parts at whatever bpm you desire.(24 bit wav 44.1 kHz reduced volume in a .RAR file) I would like to give people some opportunity to practice if you wish, however, I ask that you be confident in following through before asking. However, I will understand if you ultimately cannot complete it, I have been there.

notes.

-the track isn't very fancy or even that solid, its probably a b side if anything :}

-im probably not going to make much or even anything from this, so dont really expect much in terms of monetary gain(you should have paypal, and i'll foward the emails to the label)

-Im looking for 3 remixers capped.

-styles locked to, progressive, progressive house, oldschool progressive house(which I'd favor the most), progressive breaks and some sort of emotional techno hybrid and an ambient work however, that will be quite tricky :} Please nothing too cheesey.
: please know the history of progressive house music, at least very loosely.

-this is "selectively-open" in a sense, I would like to listen to your work before we can work on this.
:it will be screened by me when you complete it - then it will have to be run by the label for a final check.

-last time I checked the track will be normalized / mastered inhouse.

-deadline: there is not one, but lets put an artificial one at a month. The faster I get everything together, the faster it will be processed.

-troll away if that's your thing

-pm me

Honestly I'd rather give my tracks away for free, but with zero reach it makes it even more redundant. So think of this as practice/having fun as well as promoting an older way of progressive ;)

You can try giving it away as well as going through a record label. From my experience free doesn't necessarily have to compete with paid, they can complement eachother. I've been giving away my early morning rush track for almost 18 months and then signed it to a label after those 18 months under the condition I could keep it available for free. Sales were same numbers as normal, no impact it all.
Mr.Mystery
I could give it a shot.

I would love to. I'd likely work with a collab partner to get the mixing/engineering 100%.

Ok, im going to have to cut off entries from this point forward. I dont want to lead people on or be greedy, however, if everyone decides to drop out I will post here further. Goodluck everyone kisses*.
rubez
the opportunity of a lifetime here folks.
Mr.Mystery
I don't think a four bar drum loop counts as a remix.
rubez
there goes my ticket out of the ghetto :D

seriously though. is there anything sadder than remix contests?

even the people who got picked to remix a ferry corsten tune got roundly ignored.

if it was for fun, or a creative process, fine. but presenting this as some sort of opportunity? that's where i gotta step in :stongue:

remix an unknown track, from an unknown producer, on an unknown label. just a bit of perspective. also fulfilling one directive of the OP.

Mr.Mystery
Which part of "the track isn't very fancy or even that solid" and "dont really expect much in terms of monetary gain" did you see as presenting an opportunity, exactly?
