your most mesmerizing moment with mother nature

Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes - I've experienced them all. I've seen the aurora borealis, and I once found a moose's skeleton while camping in Canada when I was a kid. But nothing beats swimming in the Pacific Ocean's waves. Did it for the first time today and wow. Entering into the water and having to get a feel for the strength of it before going all in is something else. I was truly mesmerized by the moment when I got out and plopped on the beach. I def have a newfound respect for surfers.

I'm envious :)

I've experienced earthquakes both in Brazil and in Japan, and I experienced a snowstorm in the Japanese alps on the day the tsunami hit, and I've learnt to respect nature, so to speak, ever since. That red supermoon last year was also incredible.

Seeing either Aurora is definitely one of my life goals. If only I didn't live so close to the damn Equator :p

But it must be pretty amazing looking at the equator.

You were there?! Have you ever told us about it? How did you...?!

Nine replies and no pics? Floating in the toilet bowl puns?

I'm ashamed.

Pacific sea is 10 miles from my door - it's beautiful but actually pretty dirty and honestly the most stunning sea I've been in was the carribean, between Belize and Tulum. It was bath temperature, light blue turquoise and clear - you could stay in for 4 or 5 hours and not get cold. Fish swim up to you.

Then on my birthday, just as we're about to sit down on the beach for dinner (that night was beach dinner night) the manager comes up to us and says "sorry to bother you but the turtles hatched a few moments ago, it only happens once a year and we have to release them now, would anyone like to release a turtle in to the sea?

My brain went: Are you ing kidding me? Releasing that little guy on my birthday and watching him swim off was one of the most magic moments I've had with nature. Alos knowing that he/she will come back to that very spot each year and only lay eggs on that beach.

I've been through 6 earthquakes so far here in LA - they were all pretty minor but they feel weird - until you figure out it's an earthquake, it's like you're coming up or getting a headrush lol.
