hey... 3 issues here
1. beatmatching continued :D ok i feel im getting to beatmatch how i want im kicking that nasty habit of playing both tracks in the phones and usually match it up with just the single ear monitoring and then fix it on the fly... also to roughly get the beats matched i usually dont touch my record at all... i can do it all by pitch but to get those really precise i usually end up touching the platter... also i find it hard in the transition when hearing the beats drift away to correct it simply by using the pitch does anyone have any tips?
do you first over compensate for the beats drifting away then quickly bring the pitch back a little higher/lower (depending on faster/slowe) than its previous position? when i do this i usually end up train wrecking... but this is how i get them matched in the first place and how do i breakbeat mix (as in i understand the theory but what does highhats matching soundlike/mean :(?)
oh AND!
2. EQS! argh when i was first first first starting i said... ok il learn this beatmatching thing then worry about the eqs and bringing the tracks in :P just mucking around yesterday i found most of my t ransitions sounded better just leaving the eqs! and maybe cutting some of the bass on the live track at the right time... but there must be subtle tricks to make the thing flow more... what do you guys use? when you cut the treble/mid/bass before bringing it in how do you still make sure there in sync ?
3.VOLUME
i also never bothered with volume... which is a problem now... i do use the volume channels to mix but still... whats the best way to make sure ones not overpowering |
