hey fellow yr 12 victorians, how did you all go in the exam? I was really pushing it for time, heh heh, im not joking here but when I inserted my final full stop the examiner announced pens down. Hope everyone did well, it was a difficult one but i'm sure you all managed.

Good luck for the rest of them!

i don't understand, what part did you do in that section (a. editorial b. letter c. submission)? anyway it really doesn't matter, as long as you understood the question the examiners will recognise that and not take much points off you. Remember their looking to give you marks not take them away ;)

On a similar topic, I might as well post these. Here are the unofficial solutions for the 2002 Specialist Exam 1 [confirmed by many including myself and Specialist maths teachers who did the exam]:

1-5: E, C, D, A, E
6-10: A, B, D, B, C
11-15: A, E, C, A, B
16-20: E, D, B, D, A
21-25: B, A, C, C, B
26-30: D, E, C, C, D

Short Answer:

1a. (x+1)^2 + (y-2)^2 / 9 = 1
1b. * Dilation by factor 3 from x axis
* Translation -1 units parallel to x-axis
* Translation 2 units parallel to y-axis
2. 25 seconds
3. 2sec(x/2)
4.
5. -sqrt(6)
6. 1.7 seconds

Sorry I'm late...

IB = International Baccalaureate.... basically another diploma, reasonably similar to vce, but is recognised internationally; IE. don't have to convert it to foreign equivalent for overseas study (which you have to do with vce). I'm switching to 3 subjects vce next year anyway cos I'm sick of IB, even though I'm technically in year 12.

Nevermind :)
