I... uh... made it to the third track and had to turn it off.
Edit:
Perhaps listening to it at work wasn't the optimal setting. I'll try again later. |

That is to say you dislike the genre as a whole or this specific take on it? |

I really don't know, to be honest. I need to give it another shot when I'm at home. |

I would say I dislike this particular take on it... I made it about 10 minutes in before needing to turn this off....
I don't mind / do enjoy electro swing, because I like big band / swing music and I like 4/4 beats, and occasionally they can be put together very nicely. I quite like 'Booty Swing', for example, as well as the 'Swing Bop' remix of Hale Bopp.
I've thought about doing a mix of this before, but I really don't think the human brain can take much more than 30 minutes of it - nor am I positive I could find much more than 45 minutes of songs I actually like. Most put these absolutely awful vocals on-top of somewhat enjoyable instrumentals - that first track you use, Meat, is ing atrocious. |

With a genre like this that merges several elements it is to be expected that different people approach it from different angles. I for example don't particularly like Big Band music but enjoy the addition of the beats and vocals. Thus I completely disagree about the first track. |

It seems to have became the unofficial genre of choice in the second room at psy-trance events, inevitably populated by insufferable, trilby-wearing faux-bohemian clowns. |

| I keep hearing about this stuff being alluded to but never actually sat down and took a listen. Plus, I'm liking how a lot of the DJ Promotion regulars are back contributing mixes in diverse genres, lately. I'll bite. |
