Urulu, real name Taylor Freels, is a California boy through and through. With an innate talent for sunny, contemplative chords and clever drum programming, he quickly caught the ear of Berlin's Dirt Crew, known for releases by Mano Le Tough and Detroit Swindle. He'd go on to drop critically acclaimed releases on respected imprints such as NYC's Let's Play House as well as tastemaking UK outlets such as Needwant and Shabby Doll. Freels is also a beast on the decks, armed with the chutzpah to mix gnarlier Detroit and Chicago emanations with modern, envelope-pushing modern house sounds. To that end, he's gathered a tight-knit group of producers for his own label Amadeus, a home which aims to bring it all together. With his label, he's working with Auckland-based scene stormers Chaos In The Cbd, LA house zoners Sage Caswell and Cromie and fellow Berlin ex-pat Steve Huerta. As 2015 draws to a close, Urulu is preparing to launch a new EP for Melbourne mainstay Andy Hart's Voyage Recordings and a couple of new projects with which he can indulge in the dubbed-out club sounds he's become enamored with while living in Berlin, as well as the synth-driven disco and boogie sounds which were a constant in his California upbringing.

Vancouver, Canada

Around the turn of the century, Jay Tripwire burst onto the international scene with a run of remarkable singles, tracks that practically defined tech-house with their heavy percussion and detroit atmospheres. Whilebeatmakers around the world strove to imitate that sound, Tripwire evolved, developing a more melodic and sophisticated style marked by shifting chords and kaleidoscopic arrangements and created a production style that created a whole new underground movement and sound."His signature fusion of deep Detroit textures and intricate rhythms"(DJ Mag) has led a career spanning two decades, with over 300 vinyl releases, 2 commercial mixed cd compilations, and six full length albums. He remains one of the most prolific artists around, with an average of 15 releases per year and with numerous tracks hitting the Beatport top 10 for Techno, Deep House and Tech House sections respectively. He is always in demand as a remixer, averaging 15+ remixes per year. Jay has been honoured by being named by Future Music magazine- alongside Frankie Knuckles, Larry Heard, Charles Webster, Atjazz, and Tom Middleton as being one of the most influentual Innovators in house music for “The thoughtful minimal stylings of Jay Tripwire.”Whilst the term ‘ legendary’ is often bandied about with little thought,in Jay’ s case we could say just that his personal arsenal of re-edits and comfort in arranging extended DJ sets lasting eight hours ormore certainly demonstrates a talent that deviates from standard fare.Jay has made appearances in over 200 cities worldwide and some of his most memorable gigs have been in his 11 years of appearances at Fabric
London- a venue that has changed his approach to Djing and his production sound.Mr. Tripwire is a man who stayed put while all of his his fellow Canadians packed up and moved to Berlin. Jay opted to stay in Vancouver and continues to play at select underground parties and clubs, with his cult like following in tow to whichever party they can hear their hometown hero at. As a music programmer Jay has organized and brought loads of talent to Vancouver, many of which for their first time to the city, not only exposing people to music through his own Dj sets, but also exposing people to new artists and DJs.2013 was a big year for collaboration projects with friends that will make their mark in 2014 and reads like a list of who's who. You will see collabs from the like of Pig and Dan, Joeski, Grant Dell, Dzeta n Basile, Jordan Peak, Sen-Sei, Dead Echo, David Rowlanz and an upcoming collaboration with Brett Johnson.Jay’ s work has been featured on numerous compilations, notably fromCocoon, Fabric, Renaissance, Journeys by DJ, Ultra & Bedrock, and is supported by a diverse spectrum of dance culture from house luminaries such as Doc Martin and Kerri Chandler to techno legends Steve Bug, Laurent Garnier, Anja Schneider, Marc Romboy and the world renowned John Digweed. With anticipated releases and remixes imminent, the Tripwire production wheel is still very much in motion and on its way to a club near you.

REMOVE HYPHEN

https://soundcloud.com/tanja-removehyphen

Sassy selections, with throbbing, lush bass and dazzling chords, Remove Hyphen crafts sets that are thoughtful and complex--creating a cathartic dance floor rich with sub-aquatic beats.

Remove Hyphen bought her first plane ticket to India. There she studied Tabla, traditional Indian drums, at a school in the southern jungles of Kerela. This initial adventure began a life long pursuit of creative self-determination that would lead to musical experiments in China with the Pipa, an ancient lute, to Spain where she sought a guitar making family of gypsies to craft a Flamenco guitar, and to Jamaica where her knowledge of stringed instruments led to jamming out Reggae skanks with Rastas on the beaches of Negril.

Remove Hyphen's understanding of sound has influenced her productions and track selections to reflect broad musical experiences. Dubby techno atmospheres alongside gorgeous chords combine to create the raw and the beautiful, satisfying the mind and the body. Her taste has led to a residency with Devotion and invitations to share music at a wide variety of events appealing to different crowds. This open spirit is reflected in her productions, which span genres: deep acid, industrial, electronica grooves to cocoon room techno; Remove Hyphen seeks to dismiss the things that separate people, using dance music as a tool for freedom.

PATRICK BARRY

Every DJ gets his start by sharing in an experience, be it at a club, festival or after hours party, where a connection to the music is born. Patrick Barry began checking out Boston's club scene at a very early age, frequently attending high profile nights at Boston's renown Avalon nightclub, supporting local talent at Avalon's neighbor and sister club, Axis, and partying the night away at Boston's Rise after hours club. Over several years he slowly immersed himself into Boston's musical melting pot, becoming friends with DJs and producers a like.

With a dedication and desire to grow that is rarely seen in some new DJ's, Patrick honed his skills playing for Boston's eclectic musical community at different house parties, sharing deck time and gaining tips from Boston djs. In October of 2006, Patrick launched himself into the club scene with his first club gig at the infamous Venu nightclub, a notorious spot to launch and introduce new talent into the scene. It was here that Patrick's sound began to evolve and his love for techno grew to compliment his love for house music. His technical skills improving each time he stepped behind the decks, Patrick's undying desire to obtain every track he could to help polish his sound, grew and grew landing gigs regularly at throughout Boston as well as New York, Portland, Washington (D.C.), Providence, Portsmouth (NH), and Miami alongside djs such as Danny Howells, Lee Burridge, Mr. C, Paul Woolford, Dj Three, Matt Tolfrey, Culoe De Song, Till Von Sein, Ian Pooley, John Tejada, Chloe Harris, Will Saul, La Fleur, Juan MacLean, Phonique, Dance Spirit, Adultnapper, Blond:ish, Oliver $, Naveen G, David Scuba, Pete Moss, Pezzner, Fred Everything, Adam Shelton, Clive Henry, Tanner Ross, Mike Swells, and Eli Wilkie.

In 2010, Patrick was named a resident at the famous Cambridge Wednesday night (now called Re:Set) @ The Phoenix Landing as well as Portsmouth's Red Door, regularly playing sets and helping to bring in top notch talent to the venues.

In 2012, Patrick and fellow Boston dj Tom Bartlett formed the duo "SITH" bringing their brand of deep and funky tech and house to dance floors everywhere.
