Hi all,

I love the deep progressive sound of the following DJs:

Kay-D (my absolute hero!!), Moshic, Basil O'Blue, Matias Chilano, Domased Electronica, Loquai, Timewave, Dark Soul Project, Relaunch, Matteo Manero etc

Its possible to find current stuff from the them on youtube, mixcloud etc, nothing really centrallized but I find my way

but what I really look for is older stuff from this kind of music.
being addicted for trance and house for ages I found interest in that special genre of music only in 2014 so have a lot of the newer stuff but guess this kind of music exists also already longer? maybe with other DJs but same nice deep sound..wouold be great

does anyone know sources for that? any suggestions?
my current source for older stuff is friskyradio where I am am member that goes somtimes back until 2011 but that is my only source right now.

Thanks
Andreas

You can try discogs.com find your favourite artists on there and look at the labels they release on, try to date back(although discogs isn't always the best option for this) Im positive you'll find something you're looking for. Just raw searching through youtube is a good too. If streaming radio is your thing, I know a few progressive guys have a show on digitally imported. Just enjoy the journey of finding the tracks that you like the most, its a fun experience.

If you're just looking for individual tracks and releases, Beatport is your best bet. For example, here is just about every track Kay-D has ever made, available to buy: http://classic.beatport.com/artist/kay-d/71785/tracks. In terms of streaming, I know labels like Mistique didn't initially upload their catalogues to platforms like Spotify so a lot of the stuff pre-2012 is missing. If you don't want to buy the tracks, using Beatport to find their names and then searching on Youtube will probably find most of them.

As for how long that sound has existed for, it goes back to around 2006-8. Mistique started 2008/9 and was the main outlet for most of the names you've mentioned. Prior to that, labels like Tilth and FeralCode were releasing similar stuff:

Thanks Guys, good tips, will have a look!

how is this special music style actually called?

beatport states Progressive House but this is a huge word, a Hardwell (which I like as well) also plays progressive house but that is a difference like black and white ;)

Hardwell is not progressive house. A lot of music which is now called "big room" gets labelled as progressive house on Beatport, because there are only a limited number of categories on the website.

There is no special term for this sound. It's progressive, but it's quite a specific sound within that bracket. I tend to just call it "Mistique-style" or "web-prog" (because it's only released on digital labels and almost never played in real clubs).

Look at their sets called Deep Impact (hosted by Stiven Rivic) , Reverberations, Mistique Music

MistiqueMusic dj sets but it hasn't been updated but you can look at the tracklist http://mistiquemusicdj-sets.blogspot.com.au/

Some say progressive house some say progressive trance it's all a mixture of both styles.

Sima Deep, deepndarkprog, Promo Release, pradainpraga on youtube would be a good choice too as well.

A lot of people associate "Deep" with the sets, shows etc. More or less its pretty limited you'll be able to track it down. When I was first finding this stuff I heard a lot of stuff from Morphosis records and mistique, there are a few eps I really enjoyed, Alex Rize, cream sound, I remember it being pretty incredible im gonna try to track it down for old-times sake.
