they may as well... every other motherer is cashing in on them.
and i don't think today's roland is under the same management as vintage roland. i doubt they have any qualms in squeezing extra cash out of these classics.

Isn't Roland a little late to be trying to cash in on these? From what I've seen, the demand and prices for the original units has been declining pretty drastically over the past 5-6 years. Meh, whatever.

You can get a nice box for 808, 909 samples with the Roland mc303, its a nice sounding little unit and its cheap. I ordered one recently :)

I got a Roland D2 Groovebox.
The mc-303 was my very first piece of Kit I ever owned a long time ago I loved it. Then came the MC-505 at the time I was poor! :(

I'm with Dave on this one, I really don't understand why there's a need for another clone.
Also, what most people don't realise si that the original 303's were a complete ing pain to program. Seriously, try one, you'll see what i mean. Back in that golden era of acid, most of those guys weren't "programming" or composing on them as such, it was basically random you were punching in and hoped that something squiggly came out.
One of my tutors many moons ago was one of the few guys who could understand the damn things back in the 80's (the manual was one of the greatest examples of japanese to english translation laughs) and he would get paid a small fortune to go to an artist/studio and whack out some 303 lines.
Given that there were half a dozen hardware clones over the years, and what two dozen good sounding softsynths, it seems bizarre that at this juncture, Roland thinks this is going to be a hit.

People dont know how to use electronic-music making equipment, what else is ing new? Better rate it a poor product because I cant be arse'd to learn it inside out. I see this ring true looking at threads on gearslutz through the years. Best is when Something comes out with more features, people are quickly to jump ship. In essence this is a microcosm of electronic music production and where it is now.

One of the video review guys said that having the Roland badge added authenticity and made a difference.
Proving that people are ing idiots, and Roland will sell loads.
