This is my set from London's amazing not for profit party 'Planet Angel'. I absolutely loved this gig - probably the most 'fun' set I've ever played, and the crowd seemed to lap it up. Let me know what you think!

I definitely understand what you mean about this set being fun. I can tell that you were having fun playing it, because there's no sense of you trying to force the flow or struggling to know what to do next. The first three tunes don't massively grab me, but as soon as you go from Memento into Nana I'm sold. The combo of Dreams and Hosanna is well-timed, as is the closing hat-trick of classics. Those three sections are strong highlights and the stuff in between is suitably enjoyable (the one exception being Battle Of Sense - I can see why you went more rhythmic there, but I'd have preferred a different track to do it with).
The overall result is 90 minutes that absolutely flies by. I do wish you'd play like this more often when you go peak time, rather than all that FX-riddled, tune-dodging prog psy. I know it's so much harder to find these kind of tracks, but this is definitely the model of what banging trance should be like in 2016. |

| Thanks very much for the review! I accurately guessed the tunes you would have liked and disliked the most. I also agree that this is how 'mainstreem' trance ought to sound. Playing this set kind of reminded me of the trance I used to enjoy 11 years ago when wet behind the ears, before the weight of the world crushed my soul. Obviously it's all 10 bpm slower and a bit less heavy on the breakdowns, but it still has that mass appeal sound without being too cheesey |

| I agree with Jack, I really wish you'd play out like this more often. Not that I dislike what you do play, I like it, but I absolutely love this stuff! I actually did quite like the first three tracks, though not as much as the latter ones, except for, yeah, that 'Battle of Sense' one. Great stuff, mate! |

Haha, thanks for the feedback
What is it about battle of sense you are finding so offensive? Is it just a bit noisy and crass? I've played it twice and it seems to do the damage each time. Probably one of those tunes that's better in a club than on the headphones though |

Actually I had some time to listen today :p
Man it's plainly obvious you were having fun here. I'm a sucker for high energy stuff and this set was an absolute blast. Nice fun trance for the dancefloor and some classics at the end. The first 45 minutes were completely insane, the rest of the tunes had their moments but you came out on fire in this mix. Good stuff man! |
