Hi everyone,
Thinking to move to this one after my current Steinberg UR22. Any feedback on this interface in terms of stability and quality? Also, will I be able to DJ in Ableton using Komplete in stereo rather than in mono mode (UR22 being a 2X2 interface only allows me to mix and cue in mono).
Thanks. |

Also, if I want to both produce music and mix tracks on the live, should I consider getting a 4X4 audio interface of a mixer which might also have a built-in audio interface?
Please advise. |

Well it's a 4in 4out interface so yes, it will let you do more than the ur22.
I'm not up on my current interfaces but at least when this was released I remember it being good value and it's nice to have the volume control built on the top.
As for mixing in ableton, potentially yes, but I'd need to know a little bit more about what you're expecting. Are you using external DVS too? or entirely ITB? What do you want to control? |

i bought this in 2011, and it seems like they haven't released an interface since this one, maybe they don't feel a need to improve on it ?
i sold it last year , only because i was damn near homeless and needed extra cash, but i might buy it again soon because it was good for what i needed .
that volume controller in the front is nice, and it doesn't feel like a cheap piece of hardware all together ,
i would recommend it. |

No, I will only connect APC40 for mixing in Live. I want to actually have the stereo cue in my headphones rather than mono which I have with my current Ur22. |

Well if you're using the apc40 as the controller for live, then yes, the extra outputs on the NI will do the job. I just looked and it seems on the Komplete that you can switch the headphone monitor between outputs 1/2 and 3/4, so the short answer is this will be perfect. You can basically flick that switch for each channel you want to cue (and/or even do it in the software). |

Cheers mate. In terms of quality, which one rocks - KA6 or Steinberg UR products? |

They're about the same. I've always preferred the Steinberg stuff as it's always well built, uses some of the better Yamaha AD and they support the drivers pretty well.
NI has a habit of abandoning their hardware so I personally wouldn't put money into one of their older products at this point, but who knows. |

You guys left me doubted since I was just about to place an order for KA6...
Some guy on the other forum advised to buy Novation 2X4 but it doesn't have mic preamps.. So what do you recommend if I want to both produce music and DJ live using Ableton and APC 40? My budget is around 200USD. |
