This is really sad.
Apparently when the shots rang out, security were heard telling people it's just fireworks.
5 dead so far. RIP |

| Conflicting reports from friends there vs. BPM statement of a lone shooter. Two shooters at Blue Parrott and two others at different clubs. Apparently cartel related. So now no one gonna get that drug money when BPM pulls out. No metal detectors at Blue Parrot.😔 |

| The festival released an official statement. 4 confirmed dead, one was a long time bouncer at the Guvernment here in Toronto. Apparently the shooter had been kicked out earlier, then hopped the fence or something back in. |

| Were people actually show inside? From what i've read, it was people outside Blue Parrot? |

| It's hard to say because the club opens onto the beach with just a fence. A friend of mine says bullets were flying in the club. |

Lit a smoke.
edit... I wish it was a cooler story since it's the only time I was ever ejected from a bar. |

Honestly as a non smoker I'm so happy when they banned smoking from clubs. I remember the days of my eyes bothering me the next day and the smell in my clothing. People at time didn't know how bars/clubs could function without smoking. It had become so ingrained.
But it must be a weird feeling knowing someone who dies prematurely. Makes you appreciate being alive which you can't help taking for granted. |

I set fire to a bundle of dry leaves and paper in hopes of making it burn and produce smoke. It would be so dope to set something on fire that night and have my very own blazing inferno... But a bouncer so hardcore he later got shot in Mexico saw my act of possible arson and tackled me before I could light the damn thing.
I protested and defiantly said "I'm sorry, I had no idea I couldn't do it. I'll put it out, eh?", the most Canadian declaration of war ever uttered north of Niagara Falls, I'm sure. The bouncer didn't budge, and I could see he was seething. He replied "I'm deeply sorry, but I'll have to escort you out because of the rules. Please pick up all your belongings and make sure you don't forget your cell phone in case you need to hail a cab. Would you like me to contact someone else here at the club to inform that you're on your way out?".
Oh, the nerve! I couldn't hold back any longer and said, "Yeah, can you please tell Derek over there? He's the guy wearing the red polo shirt? I'm the designated driver tonight, and I'm afraid he's in no condition to go back home without me", to which the bouncer retorted with "Yes, sure, please grab your things while I talk to him". Joke's on him, I intended to do just that anyway! The bouncer then came back with Derek and I said "Thanks!", Derek said "Huh?", and the bouncer said "I'm sorry for any trouble, them's the rules" and he walked us both out. I wouldn't go out without a fight, so I was all like "What if I apologise?", but the bouncer said there was nothing he could do.
Once of the most brutal nights I've ever had! |
