It pretty much very roughly says BPM is just the beginning and they're gonna kill everyone kinda deal.
Glad BPM is no more in Mexico, Playa Del Carmen is trash. |

Media outlets are changing from BPM 2018 is suspended, to BPM being cancelled indefinitely.
The scene down there will still be strong, and people will still be partying. Of course, once BPM leaves it won't be the same in size.
I was there with Loco Dice when he played at Blue Parrot sometime in March, weeks and weeks after all the BPM left over parties and it was still packed. So I know the techno scene will stay strong down there for a while. NYE jungle parties will still be cracking, but perhaps not as packed as before.
It's a sad day though. Playa Del Carmen was something special and unique because of Tulum, the beaches, islands, Chichen Itza, the weather, I can go on and on. Shame it's all over now. |

But like Spin Laden said, there's tons of politics involved. I even read one article where they quoted a city official saying that BPM doesn't even apply for the permits until after they have sold tickets. The same official said that this is a problem because if they deny permits, presale holders will think BPM is ripping them off. Not only that, but just like EDC, the official was saying they're tired of all the drugs and that they rather loose money and bring in a more sober crowd. |
tired of all the drugs? LOL is that like an oxymoron? coming from the supplying country that pumps the USA and how many other countries full of their drugs? pretty sure the drugs arent going away in mexico, BPM or no BPM |

It's hilarious because ~85 people die per day from alcohol (not including drunk driving or the number would be 246/day). Meanwhile overdose of painkillers is about 79/day. I don't have numbers for Mexico, these are all for the USA.
Those "other" drugs are the problem though. The marijuana that makes people rapey, LSD that causes permanent brain dysfunction, or MDMA which causes instant death. :stongue: |

Replay media catcher. Downloads everything really well.
It's a shame becuase while Mexico has problems, certain areas were free of the problems.
I stayed in Xcalacoco in 2015 (between Playa and Tulum) and it was one of the best experiences of my life, but then Tulum got seized, and now BPM is dead, with cartels moving in.
Cabo is fine, but the sea sucks, and they keep getting obliterated by hurricanes every two years, and furthermore they don't want the drugs so it's a non starter.
Puerto Rico could be interesting becuase of the US travel thing but then so do the drug laws etc. |
