Hot damn this is so awesome, never thought someone would make a proper trance track thats so beautiful it literally entrances me.
This what trance was supposed to be IMO.
Orkidea is still the .
I'm so hyped omg

I thought you were being a bit superfluous there, but this is ing amazing.

Ah, this track. I remember hearing this in a mix about a year ago but never knew the same. Honestly, that spoken vocal ruins it for me. Very corny.
I did really love this recent track by Orkidea though. Has that timeless tribal/techy sound going, not too complicated, great percussion... just effortless:
I'm aware that another observer might find the tribal chanting in this just as corny as the vocal from My Sunrise, but them.
Woony
It's not bad but it kinda sounds like pleasant-enough mnml techno with some trance-y sounds thrown in. Lacks the punch and edgyness if you ask me.
I thought this recent track was pretty pure trance. I think thid kind of sound has more potential. Funnily enough, i've been going in this direction with my tracks for a while and when I heard this I was like "wow someone went and did it! :p"
Another one, the last one had no hihats, this has no drums at all. But it's got the spirit, I think.

Berry used the same vocal in an AoT track, I believe, which is probably the only reason I find it grand. Nostalgia uber alles, etc etc.

I'm pretty ing sure I've heard Jon or someone else play this one out, and it sounded grand on a biggish system.
You were the one, I believe, who coined the phrase about Said Gurning, yes? This one seems to be a winner for that category ;)
Kuhis
I'm surprised no one has posted anything about this artist yet. The guy only has two releases so far (2015 & 2016) and I've been looking for something like this for a long time. There's supposed to be represses of both and a new EP in the same series this year I believe.
Anyway, I felt like this one was a bit more trance leaning with that timeless feeling. The rest of his work is bomb as well though.

I first heard it in Jon's Plastic Angel set, so that might be where you know it from?
As I recall, my exact words were "Top notch ethnic wailing - it's enough to get Edward Said gurning."
Paradox Lost
So am I just missing something by looking at this as an uptempo remix of Chris Coco's 'My Sunset' from way back in 2002? The opening synth is identical, but did Coco just sample the vocals from somewhere else, or something?
It's nice, original, and stands on its own, but I've never liked it when remixers don't call a remix a remix (same thing Perring and Helstrip did when they did an obvious remix of Tilt's 'Invisible' and titled it 'Avalon').
Vernon Wanderer
He has been making his own versions of old tracks for a while, like Sun Down. Personally I don't mind it at all, he keeps the DNA of trance alive.
Anyway, I also really dig this new track, with lyrics from an 1873 poem Ode.

Nice and spacey. I approve.

So Sander van Doorn just remixed Seb Fontaine's 2004 'Need To Feel Loved' (which I still actually have a soft spot for), only billed himself as producer alongside this cover vocalist in the same way that we had discussed earlier. If this is an ongoing trend, I'm really not digging it:
