Immigration picking people up on the streets of LA

I just found out from a friend that lives there that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are in east LA, literally walking up to people in the street asking for ID and papers.
No papers will get you detained.
My friend has lived in the area for 7 years and this is the first time they've ever seen it.
I wonder what's going to happen if they mistake a Jew for a latino. |
