I couldn't help but do another one of these, since the last one was so fun. Sticking with the 80's synth-pop/new-wave electronica sound, with a little indie rock sprinkled in. Mixtape-style.

Neulore - Shadow of a Man [Chop Shop]
HEALTH - LIFE [Concord Loma Vista]
Strange Talk - Young Hearts [Wind-up]
Metric - Breathing Underwater [Mom & Pop]
purity ring - heartsigh [4AD]
Great Good Fine Ok - Not Going Home [Neon Gold]
Panama Wedding - All Of The People [Glassnote]
Bleachers - Rollercoaster [RCA]
Goldroom - Breaks [Downtown/Interscope]
Miami Horror - Real Slow (ft. Sarah Chernoff) [Haven]
Joywave - Now [Cultco]
Smallpools - Killer Whales [RCA]
Vinyl Theatre - Shine On [Fueled By Ramen]
Junior Prom - Stand! [Doghouse]
Saint Motel - My Type [Parlophone]
MisterWives - Our Own House [Photo Finish]
Knox Hamilton - Work It Out [Prospect Park]

Enjoy! :D

Taking a listen now (I haven't checked out pt I yet but that's coming next). Some nice tunes for an early Saturday morning here, melodic and catchy ("Not Going Home" is a standout so far), I've heard people call this stuff "dream pop" or something? And that sounds pretty accurate. My ex would have probably been all over this. :P

Thanks Luke! Definitely big and ethereal and melodic, kinda hard to describe but "dream pop" is definitely an interesting classification of the genre. I just used the super generic umbrellas of indie/electronic to describe the style, since both mixes have that feeling of the artsy indie music fused with 80's pop, re-finished to have modern mastering techniques and influences.

It's interesting that you say your ex would have been all over this because my wife absolutely loves this type of stuff. She introduced me to Metric (Joywave actually opened for them when we saw them), purity ring, HAIM, amongst others of this same vein. I filled in the blanks and made these two mixes and they are great for car trips, long runs, or even background music. Thanks for checking them out!
