Hey guys, I was browsing through Discogs and happened to stumble across this "White Label" vinyl of Paul Oakenfold's track "Southern Sun". Does anybody know where I can find a rip of it, or if anybody has it, could they please rip it for me? Thanks! :)
Here is a link to the Discogs page:

| I don't think the original or Tiesto remix is musically any different than what you can find on any of the official releases, it's just that this was a promo pressing handed out to DJs ahead of the official release date. Cool from a collector's perspective, but doesn't seem to be anything you haven't already heard. |

I think it actually might be different from the released versions... Because if you look at the release date at the Discogs Web page (20 January 2002), you'll know that it pre-dates the Dutch Dimension Tiesto solo, which was on 2/2/2002. Tiesto played his remix of Southern Sun there, albeit with different lyrics and a slight but noticeable difference in the instrumentals. I was wondering about getting a rip of this release to see if this is the version played at Dutch Dimension. Thanks for your reply! :) |

| Yeah, that was the only possible difference I had been kicking around, that it's the one with the alternate ''cuz it's easier to drown" lyrics. Maybe someone else knows more about this. |

Yep, that's EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Hopefully somebody has this and can rip it in full quality for me! :) |

Hmm... This appears to be a "reconstruction," in which someone ripped the mixed version from the ISOS3 (Panama) CD and edited it into the regular released version that you would normally find.
Does anybody know how and/or where I can find a full quality rip of the white label version of Southern Sun? I am also interested in hearing the Original Mix included in this pressing. Again, thanks everybody! |

If it is a recon it's damn near perfect to the point that nobody would notice. It's unmastered, but it's a constant 137bpm and the levels and (lack of) compression are consistent throughout.
Given that only 1 person owns it on Discogs, and presumably added the release page themselves, I'd say your chances are zero unless you contact them and ask. Discogs can be edited by anyone and there's every chance the user simply guessed the release date. |

Interested to know your supporting evidence for that.
I am almost certain (as I said in the other thread about this) that this version was released on an unmixed ISOS3 release I just cannot find any links of it now. |
