i was in Detroit in 2014 and witnessed Terrence parker playing in an empty club true story.
america doesn't appreciate their artist like the rest of the world does.

bad ass. may be forced to listen to this with some drinks today... no work! good to see the detroit style still in effect.
seen terrence parker, juan atkins, derrick may, kevin saunderson, carl craig, richie hawtin etc in a what must have been a VERY early 90's techno documentary not that long ago. love that kind of stuff. a history lesson i can pay attention to... you can hear how the detroit sound moulded the likes of the prodigy over here.
bonus: one of my favourite current artists is without a doubt marc romboy. love his style. here is a modern remix of terrence's old track that i've had jammed on repeat for ages. sublime!

Had a serious "senpai noticed me!" moment when Derrick May replied to me on FB. Lots of classics in this set but some of the mixing... well let's just say I expect a lot more from people who have been doing this for so long.

Keeping everthing beatmatched with two people on the decks simuntanously is really, really hard.... especially if you add records, a 909 and a sampler in the equation.
The May and Saunderson set is kind of meh. Too much brekadowns and filtering, some good tracks but a lot of bigroom fodder and tracks everyone's heard a thousand times. And playing classics twice is kind of tacky IMO. Ben Sims and Dvs1 did the double setup b2b a few years ago on just CDJs and much better. But even they aren't keeping everything in sync all the time and they are both insanely good technically.
