A little more than two weeks are left before 2 of the most prominent names of the modern techno scene bless us with a back-to-back performance that I’m sure will fulfill our craving for hard banging beats. Now, it’s been a while since I last heard Sven Vath’s or Plastikman’s material and since there isn’t much time left before the madness on the 21st I decided it would be a good idea to get ready for the journey by digging out some of their sets. Let’s see what the rest of the techno heads on this board suggest as a warm up
I propose a banging little peace by the Richie that’s about 4 years old but is dirty as hell:

I got a couple of Sven’s older sets on my other hd but I haven’t heard them in a while so I won’t bother with the suggestions for Vaths' stuff but if I recall correctly his peace @ Cocoon was a good 1. |

wells .. i own 2 Richie CD'z and 0 Sven CD'z .. but have mp3'z of both like mad on other CD'z ..
right now i can't think of any i'd suggest.. the last Richie CD i bought was DE9 and i liked it !
anyhow, who knows if i'll hit this up but u never know .. since i did discover techno before trance anyhow!

That was the time when I discovered hardcore actually, then came techno...
I haven't gone out on Thursday night in a while but it's definitely time to break the trend on the 21st! |

sven's set @ cocoon is awesome, though my version stops and starts in some places... radio broadcasting troubles i think. amazing sound though, somewhere in between techno, and i don't know what :D
desidel, i'm gonna grab some hawtin sets to see what he's like, but techno has been ruling my playlist and md player for a while now, so i'm sure i'll like it. though, i am listening to armin's 7-hour set, and it's not too bad... little bit of everything in here.
anyways, the real purpose i post is i'm wondering if i'd be able to get a lift from the bus station. see, i gotta bus it down from kdub, and i don't really know anyone who's going yet, so, yeah. just wonderin. XD |

Motion, what bus station precisely? I c u changed ur sig, I remember getting that Ken Ishii set from I love techno VI in 1999 and it was stuck on repeat for the longest time. I had that part at about 22 minutes in on my voicemail for a while, everyone wondered what the hell was going on :crazy: |

Ya..I still have their Stuff too, it's wicked! lol....And I didn't go in your car when we went to Marco, I was in my friend's remember??? lol....it was a while back I know--those damn drugs can't help us think properly. :D

well actually the last I heard of them is that Anita and Ray both left and now it's two chicks but the music sounds like , that's the news as of 4 years ago. There were remakes of the classic by such trance master as M.I.K.E. and Yves De Ruyter a couple years ago, but other than that have not heard much of has happened to the group. I think they are dead. |

First of all 2 unlimited consisted of Anita DeJong and RAy Slingaard + I will share all the info I know about them :D.
Last thing I heard Anita DeJong was doing an EC type show. She might still be on TV of in the NL.
Ray Slingaard has turned into Dutch Hip hop production (as that is what he wanted to do all along). He said this while he was doing his last 2 unlimited performance @ EC (with another chick, Anita was not even there :(). I know he is still doing that in Holland.
They tried to get 2 Unlimited back by bringing in 2 chicks instead of Anita and Ray, but Phil Wilde & Jean Paul De Coster gave us a flop and the name 2 Unlimited permamntly dissapeared.
BTW did u guys know that 2 Unlimited's producers are now produsing Sylver and Kate Ryan? I can't believe that they are doing Gino music now :(. Also I just found out A SPECIAL TRANCE REMIXES ALBUM OF 2 UNLIMITED WILL BE RELEASE IN JAPAN THE 18 OF DECEMBER. Whoever can get this plz share :D. I got this info from here:

umm... i dunno, the one where the buses come in at from waterloo... i can find out the specific name tomorrow maybe.
yeah, this set, omg. love it. i've had it for a while now, and i just listened to it by chance yesterday on an md. blew me away, so gooooooood. |

2 Unlimited .. haha omg. classic.. my fav all time tune by them: "Twilight Zone". I rmemeber once playing laser tag at the CN Tower back in 7th Grade and they dropped that tune inside and i was like awww yea!!
haha .. funny how a lot of us start off listening to techy eurodance kinda tunes before we got into trance. infact i could prolly vouch that a huge number of ppl off TOTA evolved into trance this way .. :p
mot10n.. i'm sure u'll LOVE Richie's stuff.. that man is a pure innovator. too bad he had to play at Tonic the last time he was here. but u should definately catch him.. from what i hear he doesn't make too many appearances.. |
