| think you'd probably get a lot of useful info from the dj booth forum concerning equip, personally, i'm savin up for decks and a mixer. they say the technic 1200s are the way to go, so that's where i'll be. i'm aiming to get a djm500 too to accompany it. ahh half way there, only a few more months now. as for places *Shrug* mm.. checked out one stop deejay down at prahan? may want to check out www.djbasement.com as well. they're melb based. |

Something u should consider.... 1st of all, because your new, and want to learn and stuff, u want cheaper equipment... Its logical i know, but u should add a few extra pennies and get the better gear. It will be well worth it, and u wont lose money when u try to get rid of your old stuff.
Another thing u mught consider is that alot of these places have intrest free terms now, i seen a place that had 24 months interest free terms on equipment, so if u believe u can repay within the specified time period, u might want to do that. Thats how i got my gear, i paid it off within 6 months though... they didnt have 24 months when i was getting my stuff.
It worth waiting little extra to get better gear, cos u will grow out of the cheap stuff quickly. |

There is a stanton package which I think is not too bad for a starter, consisting of 2X STR8-60 TT's, Stanton Mixer, Cart, Headphone, Slipmat,...the works. They are about $899 RRP though if you look around you might get them cheaper (prob about $800-$850-ish)
My first gear was an old citronic TT's and technis mixer, had them for about 8 months before I have what I have now :happy2: |
