...And in my opinion he's earned it because he put in the time for decades way before it was mainstream over here.
But some of the younger guys...pretty nuts. |

| Never even heard of some of those people. |

| Every guy on that list should be banned from ever being associated with electronic music again. |

Garrix is just 21 years old
Never even heard of The Chainsmoker or Zedd...
I expected Hardwell in that list.
Crazy world. |

I don't believe any of these figures, just like the rich list figures can't be trusted either.
Calvin Harris is maybe the only one that's plausible becuase his management company oversees a lot of the big vegas DJ's but even then, the numbers don't make sense as the feeds have gone way down since their peak a couple of years ago, and clubs just aren't paying it anymore.
Chainsmokers probably make a couple of million but all their big hits have been collabs with bigger artists meaning they're hsrae is greatly diminished, and artists have never been paid lower for no.1 hits (I know one of the guys that writes for Jason Derulo and wrote and produced Want to want me of which he'll be lucky to see $1m and that gets chunks taken out from the label, manager, and taxes. That little for a song that was no.1 in several countries and still being played on radio two years later).
As for the fees, there's simply no way. For example, Garrix at his peak (2015/16) could get $100,000 max a set.
Therefore to make 21,000,000 in a year, he'd have to be doing 210 gigs a year, over just over 4 a week.
Impossible, firstly, you've got people like Carl Cox, who is a machine when it comes to gigging and manages about 80 tour dates a year.
Secondly, there aren't enough venues paying $100k a set to do that many gigs. there;s literally only about 30, maybe 40 promoters who can shell out that money and not all of them are booking Garrix.
In other words, these figures are just as bull as the daily mail story back in the day that claimed Judge Jules was getting 100k in a night. He clarified and said that once he had been paid 100k but most the time it was 5-10k. |

| Surprised Aoki is still even relevant, but I guess it's easy to make money when your dad owns Benihana. |

Non of those DJs play Trance, except for Tiesto who used to, but everyone on that list plays nothing but EDM.
They should make a list of the Highest Paid Trance DJ, surely Armin is on top of that somewhere? |

You are 100% right. These are estimates and they are so far off base. Most artist/bands run at about 45% profit.
10% management
10%agent
5% business manager
and then you have not even calculated their travel costs. Many times they do private jets but not always because if they travel across the Atlantic then they just fly the whole team on commercial flights. I think you can figure out what it costs to fly a crew of 5-10 people first class across to each gig.
So 40% profit is probably very realistic for these guys. Then from the 40% subtract taxes and we are talking about a much smaller profit than these figures show.
It is just click bait for these media outlets. |

Mental Theo said in a talk show last Sunday he had 160 gig when he's taking it easy. 300 a year in his prime was normal.
He earned millions and millions back then he said. I don't think he was among the top DJ's.
My brother in law knows the music manager of Sensation. He can also book Garrix. For just 4 gigs a year he earns €100,000. |

I see his name more and more recently. Plays a lot also in my area. But I don't need to see him. Wonderful days in the past though :) |
