I love Hybrids productions as well.

Monk & Canatella - Enter the Monk (Hybrid's Electrotek Club Mix)
Radiohead - Everything in Its Right Place (Hybrid Mix)
Golden Girls - Kinetic (Hybrid Remix)
Ayumi Hamasaki - Teddy Bear (Hybrid Mix)

etc.. etc..There are soo many...
I bet I would have been able to apreciate Glorious aswell if I wouldn't hate Andreas Johnson soo much. He's a real diva who makes crap tunes and thinks he's on top of the world. I cant like a tune with him singing Im afraid..
[/rant] Ah well..;) |

Hybrid owns all producers. Every tune/remix is a masterpiece in their own way. They're more than just breaks, house n trance. There are so many jazz influences in their songs - take tracks 2 through 5 from their Wide Angle!! Julie Cruise's voice is wicked, very distinctive. I cant wait for their new cd. Although it'll be en hard to beat the quality of Wide Angle. But i doubt the new album will be the same style. Listen to Know Your Enemy, Gravastar and Visible Noize, all very different to the style of Wide Angle.
Another thing is their livesets... they are sick!! So varied as well. One set might be breaks, the other progressive, the next this funky ass prog/house. All in all hybrid addict :) |

Dude, I so know what u mean, I was about to post about the Jazzy influences :) And I wouldn't judge their new cd by Know Your Enemy, Gravastar and Visible Noise. Gravastar, for example, was made for James Lavelle...he pitched the idea to them :) Those songs you mentioned are geered towards club's...but we'll see. Either way, I'm sure that we've yet to hear the best from their new album :) |
