| I'm looking to get some semi-pro equipment. Nothing cheap but not Sasha & Digweed quality either. Any help appreciated. Looking for 2 tables, a nice mixer & possibly dual CD deck. Brands? Models? Thanks. |

Hi. I don't know about your budget, but I would always recommend spending most of the money on turntables. I would rather buy 2 used Mk2s than some crappy new turntable.
Mixers are difficult. I'm using my 3rd one right now and ain't completely satisfied. The problem is when you're new to DJing, you don't know what you expect from a mixer.
I like the KME DJM1 I'm using now, it's sounding great and has the best xfader, but the other faders are too long for me.
So, my idea for you is to get some used Mk2s and the cheapest mixer around. When you've used that for a while, you'll probably know what it was missing and then you can throw it away and go for the real thing. I like the Pioneer 500/600 mixer, but I think it's too expensive. Don't like the Rodec at all.
In germany there are shops where you can go and actually use different mixers before buying them. If this is possible where you live, go for it and ask the people who work there. |
