Well not excately retro, I've noticed all the BIG DJs are bustin' out the really old athems and slappin' them into their sets. In every genre ... Jungle,House,Trance and etc etc etc
Example:
In Search of Sunrise 3
Nalin & Kane - Open Your Eyes |

| TranceGeek |
so based on ONE example you generalized the whole industry...

Hey Sooper - that was not funny - what the hell? Who cares I like standing naked in the rain.
Tiesto said he threw Nalin and Kane in there cause he would meet people who had not heard the song before and where blown away, I think, something like that. So he put it on his CD.
Bottom line is most Trance addicts in general are whores, wait I mean really felt the music touch their soul when it was still ok to have a super melodic track with a gigantic build up, the standard trance formula.
I know when I hear a golden oldie my stomach feels like jello inside and I get all giddy like a school girl.
Dont get me wrong though, there are some new tracks out there that do the same thing. |

Golden Oldies tossed into a set are more than welcome from me. As long as the DJ uses their brain and chooses a decent track.
DuMonde for instance was playing Zombie Nation this summer. Sorry it may be a well known song but it aint a classic and aint worth playing unless its a highschool dance. |

ZOMBIE NATION.
I'd rather hear Pete Tong fart into the mic, then hear that tune.
...and it could be one of those massive juicey wet farts, with the thick liquid bubbling towards the end, capped off with a phizzle-vvvvviiiip-GOOOOSH, and I'd still feel the same.
I hate the tune. |

i don't think there's anything wrong with throwing down an oldie.. as long as it thrown at the right place and time.
bottom line.. if it makes the set better then by all means. |
