i kinda knew about the dvd-r but can u record mp3 on a dvd-r and play it on your stereo???

there are some cd players that can play mp3s on cd's
so you can have like 700mb worth of mp3's on a cd.
dunno how many hours that is.. but over 3 hours
maybe round 7 ?

The largest CDRs that I have seen are 90 minutes, but some cd players have problems playing these.

Also, the only way you could play mp3's off of a dvd-r is if you have a player that can play mp3's and read dvds. Although, you could put 3hrs+ of mp3's on a cdr and play them on a cd player with mp3 support.

Yeah but dont you need a DVD burner to burn DVD-R's?

Yes, you do, and while the prices are coming down, they are still fooking expensive compared to a cd burner. Plus the disks aren't exactly cheap either.
