Bush Quotes (pg. 2)

I remember reading in Time about a year and a half ago, that Bush had mixed up the words devaluation and deflation, and said something about the effects of "this devaluation issue" at a press conference when visiting Japan. Japanese stocks and the Yen took a downer immediately, because traders thought the Yen would be devalued, when in fact all Bush was referring to was the deflation of the economy in Japan, which is something else.

I think that was rather funny when I read it.

some of these quotes are funny but dont we all have better things to do than nitpick every word the man says? Half the stuff is written by someone else and im sure we've said things that doesnt make any sense grammatically. :)

well actually no... proper english can be learned and spoken by anybody. you see, you need to learn how to use "nouns" and "verbs" to form sentences. and those sentences need to be "gramatically correct".

whats your point? enlighten me as to why we can't poke fun at the leader of your nation. it's nothing serious, just harmless fun. it;s not like he's infallable or something. he's not a god. he's a head of state, a politican, when can't they be made fun of a little bit?

Well you guys pretty much live off it, go for it.....Never ceases to amaze me though, how you guys just can't "let go".....In all seriousness it appears as if there is a serious lack of entertainment on your side of the line. Its always Canada talking about the U.S.. Majority of the time its something negative.

I could honestly care less what you have to say about our political leader, but the fact that you're constantly trying to prove him an idiot, either by mentioning phrases he's stated, or by his actions looks childish.

Find something else to do, for Gods sake, get over it. It just makes you guys look, well, sad. We honestly don't give a what your politicians say or talk abooot.

lookit, the thread was started because bush says some pretty damn funny things and it was ment to get a laugh. all i was reacting to was wahat i percieved to be some ignorance and or "attitude" if you will coming from your post. im glad you dont give a what our leaders do or talk about, it dosent concern you. but unfortunatly with us being neighbours to the only remaining superpower most everything that bush says (regarding international diplomacy and policies) tends to rub off a little bit on us. therefore we cant ignore it totally....although lord knows we try.
