Question : would $2000 CDN (approx. $1300 US) be a ripoff for:
2x Turntables (Stanton)
2x CD Players (Gemini)
1x Mixer (Stanton)
they've been used a couple of times...
any info would be appreciated. I don't know much about this stuff, so I thought I'd come here for some help :p

Stanton and gemini make numerous models of equipment.
Tell us if the tables are STR8 - 80's 100's or what ever.
Mixer, how many channels, what features are on it and what model.
Let me know and i will tell you if you are getting ripped off
1300 USD could get you 2 technics and a good mixer plus decent carts. |

I am sorry to tell you but you are getting ripped off.
If you were to buy all that new from that website it would cost you barely a grand.
The turntables are belt driven..... I would highly recommend not getting belt driven tables. A stanton STR8-80 is a direct drive that is perfect to learn on.
The CD tables i know nothing about those so i cannot help you there.
The mixer is a pretty good mixer but to warn you, with 2 tables and 2 CD players that is a total of 4 channels. Your mixer is a 2 channel mixer, it is possible to use all but you can only toy with 2 channels at a time, the selection can either be on phono or line. I prefer 3 or 4 channel mixers so you can have things cueued up well before you start to mix it.
Hope this helps. Any other questions feel free to write back, PM or email me. I would be glad to help you out. |
